India, officially the Republic of India (Bhārat Gaṇarājya), is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area, the second-most populous country with over 1.2 billion people, and the most populous democracy in the world. Bounded by the Indian Ocean on the south, the Arabian Sea on the south-west, and the Bay of Bengal on the south-east, it shares land borders with Pakistan to the west;China, Nepal, and Bhutan to the north-east; and Myanmar (Burma) and Bangladesh to the east. In the Indian Ocean, India is in the vicinity of Sri Lanka and the Maldives; in addition, India's Andaman and Nicobar Islands share a maritime border with Thailand and Indonesia.
Home to the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation and a region of historic trade routes and vast empires, the Indian subcontinent was identified with its commercial and cultural wealth for much of its long history. Four religions—Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism—originated here, whereas Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam arrived in the 1st millennium CE and also shaped the region's diverse culture. Gradually annexed by and brought under the administration of the British East India Company from the early 18th century and administered directly by the United Kingdom after the Indian Rebellion of 1857, India became an independent nation in 1947 after a struggle for independence that was marked by non-violent resistance led by Mahatma Gandhi.

Linda Viera Caballero (born March 9, 1969), better known as India and La Princesa de la Salsa ("The Princess of Salsa"), is a singer-songwriter of salsa and house music. She has been nominated for both Grammy and Latin Grammy awards.
Caballero was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. Her parents moved to New York City soon after her birth, and settled down in the South Bronx area of the city. They moved in with Caballero's grandmother, a woman who served as an important influence on Caballero's life. Her stage name, India, was given to Caballero by her grandmother because of her dark features and long straight black hair.
In 1985, when Caballero was 14 years old, she was a founding member of the Latin freestyle group TKA and was featured on the cover of TKA's second single, "Come Get My Love". She left shortly thereafter.
Caballero signed a record contract with Reprise/Warner Bros. Records, which planned on marketing her as the Latin version of Madonna (who recorded for sister label Sire Records). After recording the album Breaking Night, Caballero decided that she didn't want to take that route in her career.
"Tu Recuerdo" (English: "Your Memory") is the first single from Ricky Martin's live album, MTV Unplugged (2006). It was released on September 26, 2006, and features La Mari of Chambao. The song, written and produced by Tommy Torres, is a Jíbaro ballad as it features elements of traditional Puerto Rican music such as the Puerto Rican cuatro. It became a hit in Spanish-language countries and was nominated for the Latin Grammy Award for Record of the Year.
"Tu Recuerdo" was very successful on the charts in Spanish-language countries. In the United States, it topped Billboard's Hot Latin Songs for three consecutive weeks and the Latin Pop Airplay chart for thirteen weeks in 2006 and 2007. It peaked at number three on Tropical Songs and number twenty-five on Latin Rhythm Airplay. On the Billboard Hot 100, "Tu Recuerdo" reached number eighty-nine. As of January 2011, it has sold over 82,000 digital copies in the United States. "Tu Recuerdo" also topped the Record Report charts in Venezuela. In Spain, it reached number one for three weeks on the Airplay Chart and peaked at number two on the Digital Singles Chart. In 2007, the digital single was certified 5× Platinum in Spain and 4× Platinum in Mexico. The "Tu Recuerdo" ringtone was also certified 3× Platinum in Spain and Gold in Mexico.
Enrique Martín Morales (born December 24, 1971), commonly known as Ricky Martin, is a Puerto Rican-Spanish singer, actor, and author. Martin began his career at age twelve with the all-boy pop group Menudo. After five years with the group, he released several Spanish-language solo albums throughout the 1990s. He also acted on stage and on TV in Mexico, becoming a modest star in the country. In 1994 he starred on the American TV soap opera General Hospital, playing a Puerto Rican singer.
In late 1999, after releasing several albums in Spanish, Martin performed "The Cup of Life" at the 41st Grammy Awards show, which became a catalyst in bringing Latin pop to the forefront of the U.S. music scene. Following its success, Martin released "Livin' la Vida Loca" which helped him obtain enormous success worldwide and is generally seen as the song that began the Latin pop explosion of 1999 and made the transition easier for other Spanish-speaking artists to move into the English-speaking market. Since it's release, the song has sold over 8 million copies, making it one of the best selling singles of all time. His first English-language album (also titled Ricky Martin), has sold 22 million copies and is one of the best selling albums of all time. His other studio albums include: Me Amarás (1993), A Medio Vivir (1995), Vuelve (1998), Sound Loaded (2000), Almas del Silencio (2003), Life (2005), Música + Alma + Sexo (2011) and A Quien Quiera Escuchar (2015).
María del Mar Rodríguez Carnero, better known by her stage name La Mari and Lamari, was born (1975-01-18)18 January 1975 in Málaga, Spain and is the lead vocalist of Chambao. One of three original members of the group that formed in 2001, she sang alongside cousins Eduardo Casañ and Daniel Casañ, until Chambao disbanded in 2005. La Mari remained, continuing to front the band and release albums under the name Chambao.
In March 2005, La Mari was diagnosed with breast cancer. She co-wrote a book with her sister, Aurora Rodríguez Carnero, discussing her personal experiences overcoming the disease.
In 2006 she was a featuring artist on Ricky Martin's album MTV Unplugged. She featured alongside Ricky Martin on the track "Tu Recuerdo", which hit #1 on the Latin Billboard charts and received a Latin Grammy nomination for Record of the Year.
In 2007, La Mari released Con Otro Aire, backed by a new band.
In 2008, she collaborated with the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 50, Helena Paparizou, performing a duet of her Spanish song, "Papeles Mojados."

When you think India, if you think spicy food, snake charmers, dodging cows, the Taj Mahal, and total chaos- you’re thinking about Northern India. It's an adventure waiting to happen, and will leave you wondering why it only accounts for 1% of world tourism. Join Ricky Moreno as he explores Delhi, Rajasthan, Agra, Rishikesh, and Varanasi. Welcome to Delhi. Say goodbye to your personal space. It’s crowded, it’s overwhelming, and definitely exhausting. One day here can feel like an entire week. The only way you’ll have any fun is to just put down the Purell and join the party. Instead of going straight to Agra to see the Taj Mahal, first I head west to hang with some locals in Rajasthan. Here, the people are welcoming, the desert is sprawling, and the camels command the streets. And it...

In Part One of my India travel video guide, I begin my travels in India with Calcutta (Kolkata). India had long been on my bucket list of countries to travel to in the world, and in April, 2013, I finally made it there, starting with Calcutta, with no better reason than the fact was I knew so little about that part of the country. Calcutta was once the capital of the British Empire in India, and today it's home to over 14 million people, which means the city itself is a crowded, dense, loud, but endlessly fascinating place to explore. In this video I explore the alleyways and grand buildings that make up B.B.D. Bagh, the area where the city was founded. After checking out a parade (a very common occurrence I was to later learn) and grabbing a roadside cup of chai, I stop at the home of f...

Coming from Kolkata, it's hard to believe that Darjeeling is actually in the same state, it's such a vastly different place. There's little to do in NJP, but from right outside the train station you can then board to a shared jeep and for 200 Rupees, you can take the jeep straight to Darjeeling. Vacation travel video about destination Sikkim in India. For centuries Sikkim has been a segregated and independent Buddhist kingdom on the edge of the Himalayas, a land-locked Indian state and India’s most northerly region. Historical, cultural and spiritual, Sikkim is strongly associated with Tibet and possesses more than two hundred monasteries. The most holy monastery of the Nyingmapa schools is in Tashiding and is located on a mountain in the east of the country, along the route from Darjeeling. It was built in 1717 following the sight of a rainbow that connected the site with the majestic Anchenjunga Mountain. The large complex consists of a modest main temple, several buildings, chapels and Chorten with relics of both Chogyals and Lamas. A romantic forest trail leads to the Dubdi M...

In Part Two of my India travel video guide, I travel to Bodhgaya, one of the most sacred places in all of the Buddhist religion. It was at this location 2,500 years ago that a young Prince Siddhartha sat under a fig tree, meditated and found enlightenment, thus becoming the Buddha. I start off by visiting the many temples that have been built by various Buddhists from around the world, including temples dedicated to Buddhists living in China, Japan, Tibet and Nepal. I then visit the Tergar Monastery, one of the largest Buddhist complexes in the region, which is a short walk from the main road. I then head to the sacred Mahabodhi Temple complex in the center of town. At sunset it is a scenic, peaceful time to explore the grounds, which include a large monument built at the Bodhi Tree itse...

Quiero estar junto a tí
Y no dejarte ir.
Sobre el fuego
Sobre lo que pueda ser
No importa si hay que esperar
yo esperaré por tí
todo por tenerte
tenerte junto a mí
Tú dices que yo no pienso en tí
que vivo para mí
que nunca tomo acciones por los dos
Soy mujer que lucha con pasión
no entiendes mi intención
aún no captas que vivo por tu amor
Para demostrar mi forma de amar
voy a conquistarte una vez más
Sobre el fuego
Sobre el viento
y sobre el mar
Quiero estar junto a tí
y no dejarte ir
Sobre el fuego
Sobre lo que pueda ser
No importa si hay que esperar
yo esperaré por tí
Todo por tenerte
