Australian Chart Summary

Monday - Latest

The northern extension of a trough is continuing to generate areas of rain over northeastern QLD. A Tasman Low is steering gusty showers along the NSW coast. A low pressure trough is struggling to produce any rain over WA. A ridge is keeping conditions stable elsewhere.

Monday 22:00 EDT

A moist onshore airflow will feed a weak inland trough leading to showers over northern QLD's coast and ranges. A weak trough over WA may trigger the odd light isolated thundery shower. A region of low pressure may also produce the odd shower over the Top End.

Tuesday 22:00 EDT

Warm northerly winds should filter over SA ahead of a trough and associated cold front before producing showers and a cool change. This trough may also produce isolated light showers over WA. A moist onshore breeze may maintain showers over coastal QLD.

Wednesday 22:00 EDT

Warm air ahead of a trough will lead to a peak in temperatures over NSW before generating isolated showers over NSW, VIC and TAS. A region of low pressure should maintain showers and thunderstorms over the Top End and Cape York Peninsula.

Thursday 22:00 EDT

A trough should deepen over NSW and southeast QLD generating heavy showers and possible thunderstorms. Rainfall will be lighter over VIC and TAS. A weak trough over western WA may also produce isolated showers. A region of low pressure will linger in the north leading to showers.

Friday 22:00 EDT

A trough should weaken over NSW as it moves offshore, leaving light showers in its wake. A trough over the Top End and northern WA will generate thundery showers. A trough will trigger isolated showers to southern WA and western SA. A weak high will keep elsewhere mostly dry.

Saturday 22:00 EDT

A trough and associated cold front may bring patchy showers to eastern WA, SA, western VIC and TAS. A weak ridge of high pressure will keep NSW and QLD mostly dry with just the odd shower in onshore winds. Another high will keep southwestern WA mostly dry.
