I have never clicked the disable button on my comments, but in this case, I will do it. In the existing 2,7k+ comments I have already read every single possible version of threats, shame, poisonous hate, "hope-you-get-hit-by-a-car", and nitpicking of my words to make it sound as bad and conceited as it possibly can. I have also read many hundreds of comments by compassionate hearts either WITHIN REASON condemning my actions, or recognising I am just another 20-year old who made a terrible choice and judgment, and who fully accepts responsibility and realises it, and regrets it more than anything - and tries to move on through sharing this experience with others to prevent them from doing the same. You can watch this and take from this video anything you want to, but I don't want to read it anymore, because I've honestly read enough. I don't want your pity, because I did what I did, but I also think words are material, and they can hurt like weapons - and diving into this wave of negativity has left me rather psychologically drained. Just know, that, though I agree a lot of times I could have worded my thoughts better - this was shared out of pure heart and remorse. Here's a comment I posted, and I stand by every word of it: "Everyone knows the damage I could've done - including me. In oblivion I didn't even think there was a possibility of danger at that point in time, and I was INCREDIBLY lucky to have gotten caught - but the guilt has been eating me inside out ever since - as it should. I appear to be taking jail so "nonchalantly" (and trust me, I'm not) because I DESERVE it. And I regret putting myself and others in danger more than anything, otherwise I wouldn't even be filming this. NOTHING will ever justify what I did that night, but the next morning I woke up with two choices - do nothing and keep up my "social media perfect" live act -- or come clean and show the reality to my younger (and older) audience in hopes to prevent those who will lay eyes on this video from doing the same. I chose the latter. And in the case of this video, the reality focused more on the practical side of the punishment (which really doesn't make the fatality of DUI less important in my eyes, as many might perceive it). I didn't want to script it, or stage-cry on camera - I just let the words flow with an occasional self-ironic smirk. Never in the world would I have expected for this story to go viral, and I haven't been able to sleep because of the anxiety from death threats and poisonous comments, but I don't regret it a bit - I don't mind people's hatred, because this is NOT about me. My actions and the issue of DUI made people's blood boil - and I'm sure no one here will put their boozed body behind the wheel - which is the most I could have done on my behalf. Please stay safe everyone. I love you, no matter what you think or say." P.S. Just to clarify: 1,2 promiles = about 4 glasses of wine (the allowed in Latvia is 0,5 promiles, therefore mine exceeding it around 2x). My punishment is decided on by the LATVIAN legal system. P.P.S. By the Latvian legal system I can chose to go to jail within a year. I will be going in summer or fall. P.P.P.S.
