BMX, an abbreviation for bicycle motocross, is a cycle sport performed on BMX bikes, either in competitive BMX racing or freestyle BMX, or else in general on- or off-road recreation. BMX began when young cyclists appropriated motocross tracks for fun, racing and stunts, eventually evolving specialized BMX bikes and competitions.
BMX began in the early 1970s when children began racing their bicycles on dirt tracks in southern California, inspired by the motocross stars of the time. The size and availability of the Schwinn Sting-Ray and other wheelie bikes made them the natural bike of choice for these races, since they were easily customized for better handling and performance. BMX racing was a phenomenon by the mid-1970s. Children were racing standard road bikes off-road, around purpose-built tracks in California. The 1972 motorcycle racing documentary On Any Sunday is generally credited with inspiring the movement nationally in the United States; its opening scene shows kids riding their Sting-Rays off-road. By the middle of that decade, the sport achieved critical mass, and manufacturers began creating bicycles designed especially for the sport.

The crew, including Macile Reevis, wife of actor Steve Reevis, shot raw footage before making its way to the BMX track to continue filming.

Genres: Documentary,Do you have a friend that you trust? Would you trust them enough to give you directions while you rode through a sketchy maze with obstacles while riding a BMX bike blindfolded?? Well we do and his name is Cory "Puppy Arms" Berglar! We built this maze at my bike shop and put a jump into it and a jump out of it along with a random deep pothole filled with water and 6 tight turns! The result was an INSANE race that turned into an epic ending! After the event I decided to try and tail whip the rainbow kicker with the help of everyone's favorite Englishman Ronnie Surridge! After a few scary crashes I was able to ride away! Follow me @SCOTTYCRANMER and remember to SUBSCRIBE!
We made a pretty insane obstacle course behind my bike shop that involved everything from pallets, kiddie pools, car tires, a random tweaker on a curb, and 14 rolls of duct tape! The outcome was amazing! We all gave it our best shot, took some crashes but in the end only one person could be the champion! The scariest part of the course was the final jump that involved a jump over a concrete wall and a chain link using nothing but a couple scrap pieces of wood! Such an epic day and I can't wait until we do part 2! Follow me @SCOTTYCRANMER and remember to SUBSCRIBE!
The 2nd BMX Obstacle Course went down behind my Bike shop and this time things got even crazier than last time! The course we designed this time around was more drawn out with less turns but had so many different and difficult obstacles including a rail ride over a pool, a pallet island connected by 2 x 10s, a gap to a sketchy teeter totter, a fake challenge out of the back of a trailer, a jump over a tweaker, another gap over a kiddy pool, and for the last and final obstacle we had a launch ramp over the top of my 2016 Subaru WRX STI! The boys were trying their hardest to get their place on the podium but this time didn't get any easier than the first obstacle course challenge!Especially for Big Boy and the tire ride over the water! We had so much fun and we are going to keep building new...

Everyone knows that BK is a master when it comes to tail whips and everyone also knows that he is the mechanic at my bike shop! People constantly come in to have BK work on their bikes because he is one of the best there is! Today we are going to see just how fast BK is when it comes to building up a BMX bike! I challenged BK to a build off! We both start off with the same bike and build it from scratch and then you have to complete a bunny hop tail whip on the bike that you just built! I might have bit off more than i can chew on this one! Follow me @SCOTTYCRANMER and remember to SUBSCRIBE!
We came up with a new challenge to do here on the channel and it involves 8 rolls of tape, 5 traffic cones, and 10 cut up pallets! Welcome to the first ever BMX Hurdles race! Just like regular hurdle racing you have to clear the obstacles and first one across the line wins! It started off with Big Boy being Big Boy and monster trucking through the course.. Thread to head race between Coryand me was one of the closest photo finishes ever! The final race featured quite the upset but it was so much fun ripping through the course! We are definitely going to do this again! Follow me @SCOTTYCRANMER and remember to SUBSCRIBE!
