This week Craig Benzine talks about how the president gets things done. Filling the role of the executive branch is a pretty big job - much too big for just one person. It's so big that the president employs an entire federal bureaucracy! Today, we’re just going to focus on those closest to the president, like the vice president, the Cabinet, and the Executive Office of the President. We’ll figure out which strategy is most useful in helping the president make things happen and we’ll discuss the controversy around the president’s gradual increase in power. Oh, and as many of you noticed - last episode eagle got off too easy. Let’s see if we can make it up to you. And now for something completely different... Not a new Bloody Cuts episode, but a little comedy sketch we did just before filming our (more traditional) horror short 'The Birch'. A bit silly, a bit gory, a bit of a tribute to VHS, and a lot of fun - we hope you agree! Brad and Steve went looking for adventure, but instead they found horror... and a cabinet. And for a bit of fun: How many Bloody Cuts references can you find in the film? Take a shot every time you see/hear one!! www.bloodycuts.co.uk

[Lyrics Momus - The Cabinet of Kuniyoshi Kaneko] Leopards prowl the studios of the Duc de Berry's great chateau Where Cocteau's beast rehearses Beauty's rape Lewis Carroll marks his diary with a small white stone As Kuniyoshi Kaneko prepares to paint Listen to the shells my darling, what you hear is not the sea But whispering, malicious human hearts Adults who don't wish to know the Duc de Berry's great chateau And hate the world of childhood and of art We who paint or photograph to stop your dying in its path And fix you in the permanence of spring Can't stop the prattlers prattling The rattlesnakes who, rattling, see ugliness in every living thing See ugliness in every living thing The calculated insolence of little girls in sailor suits Whose faces seem to say more than they know App...
In a move to counter cyber security threat, the Prime Minister's Office has banned use of mobile phones in cabinet meetings. The decision was aimed at preventing leak of any sensitive information about the cabinet decisions and matters of policy making. The Central Secretariat recently issued a circular to this effect. The circular was issued at the direction of the PMO.

HD remastered blu-ray edition of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari from 1920. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (German: Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari) is a 1920 German silent horror film, directed by Robert Wiene and written by Hans Janowitz and Carl Mayer. Considered the quintessential work of German Expressionist cinema, it tells the story of an insane hypnotist (Werner Krauss) who uses a somnambulist (Conrad Veidt) to commit murders. The film features a dark and twisted visual style, with sharp-pointed forms, oblique and curving lines, structures and landscapes that lean and twist in unusual angles, and shadows and streaks of light painted directly onto the sets.
"The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" (German: "Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari) is a 1920 silent horror film directed by Robert Wiene from a screenplay by Hans Janowitz and Carl Mayer. It is one of the most influential of German Expressionist films and is often considered one of the greatest horror movies of the silent era.The film used stylized sets, with abstract, jagged buildings painted on canvas backdrops and flats. These unique sets gave off somewhat of a theatrical sense. To add to this strange style, the actors used an unrealistic technique that exhibited jerky and dancelike movements. This movie is cited as having introduced the twist ending in cinema. --- Directed by Robert Wiene, produced by Rudolf Meinert and Erich Pommer, written by Hans Janowitz and Carl Mayer, starring Werner Krauss...

This drama-documentary evokes what it was like to work closely with Churchill in the Cabinet War Rooms during the dark days of the Blitz and the later bombing raids on London. The programme combines superb archive film from the Imperial War Museum's vast collection, with atmospheric dramatisations actually filmed inside the Cabinet War Rooms -- the real locations from where Churchill led the nation. The programme includes first-hand accounts which reveal the challenges of working with Britain's bullish war leader at close quarters. The programme then traces the key stages of the war from Churchill's viewpoint -- his relationship with President Roosevelt, the turning point at El Alamein, D-Day and the final journey to victory. At his finest hour he is defeated in the General Election in t...
BBC News Special I produced and directed on the police investigation that led to the capture of Patrick Magee: the man responsible for the Brighton Bomb. On 12 October 1984, Magee made an audacious attempt to kill Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and her cabinet by exploding a bomb at the Grand Hotel in Brighton during the Conservative Party Conference. The Prime Minister was unharmed but five people were killed in the attack and many more injured. Broadcast on BBC1 in June 1986, around the time Magee and his accomplices were convicted of the Brighton Bomb and plotting another IRA mainland bombing campaign in 1985 when they were captured at a hideout in Glasgow in June of that year. BBC Home Affairs correspondent Bill Hamilton reports in one of my first current affairs documentaries.

I'm lying as far out
Towards the edge
As possible
So far out
That i'm almost tripping over
You lie behind me
Your breath is heavy
You're sleeping
There are some screws
That are coming loose
From two holes in the wall
The plaster's sifting down
Resting like sleep-sand in my eyes
There's a cabinet
(Hanging over my bed)
Filled with all my secret things
(Filled with all my secret things)
Every night i lie
(Staring at it)
I'm so afraid that it will fall down
Onto my face
I know what is keeping
My cabinet from falling down
It's very a small bird
Made of ceramics
Fastened by a thread
To the bottom of the cabinet
When you're awake
You play around with it
Then i get so scared
That the thread won't be strong enough
I'm hiding my head under the pillow
Hoping that
The bird won't fly away
There's a cabinet
(Hanging above my bed)
Filled with all my secrets things
(Filled with secret things)
Every night i lie
(Staring up at it)
I'm so afraid that it will fall down
'Cause what if the cabinet
(Were to fall down)
And what if it hit my face
(Would you get frightened by)
The things that you would see
(The things that you would see)
Or would try to mend it
(Would you even try)
There's a cabinet
Hanging above my bed
