Political correctness (adjectivally, politically correct, commonly abbreviated to PC) is a term primarily used as a pejorative to describe language, policies, or measures which are intended not to offend or disadvantage any particular group of people in society; in pejorative usage, those who use the term are generally implying that these policies are excessive. The term had only scattered usage before the 1990s, usually as an ironic self-description, but entered more mainstream usage in the United States when it was the subject of a series of articles in The New York Times. The phrase was widely used in the debate about Allan Bloom's 1987 book The Closing of the American Mind, and gained further currency in response to Roger Kimball's Tenured Radicals (1990), and conservative author Dinesh D'Souza's 1991 book Illiberal Education, in which he condemned what he saw as liberal efforts to advance self-victimization, multiculturalism through language, affirmative action, and changes to the content of school and university curricula.

WATCH MY LAST VIDEO ▶ https://youtu.be/6hJ1EaJ9x6w Are we too politically correct? Is it bad to be a warrior of social justice? Have we become so sensitive that it's censored comedy? Are trigger warnings and safe spaces necessary? What's the latest moral outrage? Like most things, there's usually a yes and no question can be best answered by being somewhere in the middle. We live in an era of extremism. The internet lends its voice to people, and usually the loudest ones are people who believe in things too strongly. In sensible amounts, political correctness helps us evolve as a society and become more self-aware about who we are as humans. Too much results in censorship. Too little results in hate. It's an interesting world we live in. find me snaps - AnnaKayAkana pics http://instagram...

Speaking on Real Time with Bill Maher. Writer, comedian and singer Seth MacFarlane discusses whether the Oscars really are too white when films like 12 Years A Slave won awards despite some of the voters not watching it, and he talks about the pros (a voice to the voiceless) and cons (issues such as Justine Sacco losing her job because of a joke that some on Twitter decided was racist) of social media.

MUST WATCH
I don't mean to piss you off with things I might say
But when I try to shut my mouth they come out anyway
When I speak my mind, that's when we connect
But that's not politically correct
Our heads are so filled with thought, we can't use our imagination
Like a sky so filled with stars, you can't find a constellation
And everyone's so sensitive to every bad vibration
We're so impressing while we're regressing
There's nothing I believe in more than my own insignificance
So why does everybody think that my words can make a difference
I just don't have time to think up every social consequence
I'll just keep on talking you keep applauding
I don't mean to piss you off with things I might say
But when I try to shut my mouth they come out anyway
If you spoke your mind you might feel more connected
Until you get politically corrected
You lean a little to the left or the right but
You can only see what's on your side.
Look a little like a deer in the headlights
A little blind a little hypnotized.
So you conform with the best of intention
Change comes from inside.
After all that's what this country was founded on
Do nothing different just fall in line.
What happened to make us so afraid
You couldn't make a Mel Brooks movie today
