A metal detector is an electronic instrument which detects the presence of metal nearby. Metal detectors are useful for finding metal inclusions hidden within objects, or metal objects buried underground. They often consist of a handheld unit with a sensor probe which can be swept over the ground or other objects. If the sensor comes near a piece of metal this is indicated by a changing tone in earphones, or a needle moving on an indicator. Usually the device gives some indication of distance; the closer the metal is, the higher the tone in the earphone or the higher the needle goes. Another common type are stationary "walk through" metal detectors used for security screening at access points in prisons, courthouses, and airports to detect concealed metal weapons on a person's body.
The simplest form of a metal detector consists of an oscillator producing an alternating current that passes through a coil producing an alternating magnetic field. If a piece of electrically conductive metal is close to the coil, eddy currents will be induced in the metal, and this produces a magnetic field of its own. If another coil is used to measure the magnetic field (acting as a magnetometer), the change in the magnetic field due to the metallic object can be detected.

I took Action Abby digging with me on Halloween. We checked out 2 potential sites, the first place was really overgrown so it didn't work out too well. The 2nd spot was just a small 10 acre patch of woods , where a colonial house site used to be I heard. We never located the exact area of the house foundation but we both found buttons and some other neat artifacts worth recording. I hope yall enjoy the video, thanks for watching! The big brass object I found at the end could be part to a carburetor off a tractor or something but I wasn't sure .
found this awesome cut while metal detecting with my minelab detector on a ocean beach gold class rings silver coins gold necklace recovery!!! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQFyciOMFlwtaglSH8Y7Ing
Today we will make a DIY mini metal detector. It is not that difficult to make a DIY metal detector. It just takes some patience and your willingness. The electric components used in the video are not expensive at all. That is why if you decided to make the project, this tutorial will certainly help you a lot. The initial diagram of the simplest metal detector was too difficult for beginners and young electronics lovers. That is why I didn’t assemble the circuit in a confusing way but rather I soldered the components neatly. I also designed an upgraded diagram. I made it simpler and now each willing person even those who are not into electronics can follow through all the steps of making the DIY metal detector in the video. Found this 3.8oz beauty in the goldfields of Victoria using the GPZ 7000. It was nearly dark but I couldn't resist a few more minutes detecting. It gave off a strange signal because I believe it was standing upright. Pay close attention at the 7:45 mark, you can actually see and hear the nugget as its dropped inches from the coil!!! Thanks for watching. Like and subscribe for more nice gold finds.
I had a wonderful day out on the lake. I paddled several miles and visited a pretty popular sandbar, where lots of people hang out. July 4th recently pasted and I figured this would be a great time to search for Gold rings. I detected the whole area with the AT Pro and found lots pop tabs but no gold rings. Sometimes that is how things go , but we have to keep on going. Maybe next time I will find that BIG Diamond Ring. Thank you for watching and God Bless! "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." - Psalm 46:1 To God be the Glory.
On this episode of Depths of History, Britain travels to a site that was fierce with battle and Artillery positions from the Civil War. What resulted from this trip was my best find ever metal detecting. A Civil War Artillery Shell at around the depth of 3 feet! This Artillery projectile also known as a Parrot Shell (20 LBS) was fired out of a cannon that weighed about a ton and was usually fired a mile from its original position. We also found bullets, buttons, and many other fascinating relics. From the dirt to the defusing of this live bomb, the experience was nothing short of spectacular. Thank you so much for watching and Please Subscribe if you like my videos. Please Check out Minelab Metal Detectors www.minelab.com
It is not easy to pick a new metal detector. There is so many to choose from. Perhaps this will help you decide if you want to spend 160 dollars or 1500. I appogize for not supertuning the tejòn. It would go deeper in disc if setting it right.

Down at the shore there's a place where there's no one vacationing
There's just the sound of the call of the wild overcoming the fear of
the unknown
And I've got something to help you understand
Something waiting there beneath the sand
My metal detector is with me all of the time
I'm the inspector over the mine
Look past the volley ball
Look past the squawking gull
Ignore the mountain of discarded falderal
'Cause I've got something to make you understand
Something hidden there underneath the land
My metal detector is with me all of the time
I'm the inspector over the mine
Metal detector
Watch it shine
Every seashell has a story to tell if you're listening
But underneath every shell there's a story as well if you've heard
enough of the sea
Then everything on the top will just suddenly stop seeming interesting
So listen now to the sound of the things that are found underground
Don't need no volley ball
Don't need no squawking gull
Don't need to look at any bathing beauty doll
For I've got something to help you understand
Something waiting there beneath the sand
My metal detector is with me all of the time
I'm the inspector over the mine
Look past the volley ball
Look past the squawking gull
Ignore the mountain of discarded falderal
'Cause I've got something to make you understand
Something hidden there underneath the land
My metal detector is with me all of the time
