A preacher usually identifies a person who delivers sermons or homilies on religious topics to an assembly of people, although one can also preach components of any worldview or philosophy. In some traditions a "preacher" is largely synonymous with "evangelist" (the more ancient definition, based on the Greek words underlying the English Bible). Preaching is not limited to religious views, but it extends to moral and social world-views as well.
The word "preach" (from the New Testament Greek κηρύσσω, "to proclaim") usually refers to the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, i.e. evangelism. Most modern Christians (especially Protestants) also define preaching as a monologue delivered by clergy, normally to laity, that educates the listeners on additional areas of theology more relevant for someone who is already a Christian.
Preachers are common throughout most cultures. They can take the form of a Christian minister on a Sunday morning, or an Islamic Imam. A Muslim preacher in general is referred to as a Da'ee, while those giving sermons on a Friday afternoon are described as a khatib.
The Preachers were an American garage rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1964. Musically, the group took an intense, and pounding musical approach that was heavily influenced by the British Invasion groups, particularly the Rolling Stones, and their take on American R&B. In their brief recording career, the Preachers released three singles, with their most acclaimed recording being a high-energy rendition of Bo Diddley's, "Who Do You Love?".
The band members had prior experience performing in rock and roll groups on local college circuits. In 1964, the Preachers' future personnel encountered each other at tryouts for a backing band. After their initial rehearsals, the band decided to form their own separate ensemble with a lineup including Richard Fortunato (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Hal Tennant (lead guitar), Zeke "Jim" Carmillo (bass guitar), Rudy Garza (piano), and Steve Lagana (drums). The Preachers soon became a popular attraction within venues in Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley, particularly in a long-running stint at a teen dance club called Herman Hovers. It was during this time the group opened for prominent musical acts such as the Byrds, the Seeds, and the Leaves, and attracted the attention of manager Jerry Fonarow.
The Top may refer to
A record chart is a ranking of recorded music according to popularity during a given period of time. Examples of music charts are the Hit parade, the Billboard Hot 100 or Top 40.
Many different criteria are used in different charts, including sales of records, cassettes and compact discs, the amount of radio airplay, and since the introduction of digital technology, the number of downloads and the amount of streaming activity.
Some charts are specific to a particular musical genre and most to a particular geographical location (although download charts are not easily pinned down in this way). The most common period of time covered by a chart is one week with the chart being printed or broadcast at the end of this time. Summary charts for years and decades are then calculated from their component weekly charts. Component charts have become an increasingly important way to measure the commercial success of individual songs.

MovinÂ' through the country,
gonna see a lot of preachers.
MovinÂ' through the country,
gonna meet me a lot of preachers.
MovinÂ' through the country,
gonna hear a lot of preachers.
MovinÂ' through the country,
gonna see a lot of preachers.
Preachers come good and bad.
They are ordinary men.
ItÂ's a factor we must count.
And if some have been led astray,
That donÂ't mean that theyÂ're all fakes.
Some still can point you to the Way.
MovinÂ' through the country,
gonna see a lot of preachers.
MovinÂ' through the country,
gonna meet a lot of preachers.
MovinÂ' through the country,
gonna hear a lot of preachers.
MovinÂ' through the country,
gonna see a lot of preachers.
A couple scandals happened,
A real short list.
Yes they caught some evangelists with greed and fraud and woman.
Point my fingers back to Christ.
Take a little look at a sinless life.
Base your stand on Christianity on His, not mine.
Millions of preachers, preachinÂ' to me.
Which ones believers? Which preach for greed?
Philippians teaches, verse 1:18,
If they really preach Jesus, theyÂ're preachy keen.
But look out!
Millions of preachers, preachinÂ' to me.
Which ones believers? Which preach for greed?
Philippians teaches, verse 1:18,
If they really preach Jesus, theyÂ're preachy keen.
