Dick Crockett (February 27, 1915 – January 25, 1979), born Richard DeHart Crockett, was an American television and film actor, stunt performer, stunt coordinator, producer, and director.
The first film he worked on was Room Service in 1938. The following year he began acting and doing stunt work in Bachelor Mother and The Hunchback of Notre Dame respectively. He appeared in Munster, Go Home! and Batman which were both released in 1966 and based on the respective television shows. Crockett continued as an actor and a stuntman until the late 1970s.
He was also an associate producer for four movies in the 1960s: The Pink Panther, The Great Race, What Did You Do in the War, Daddy? and Gunn. A few years later he became a second unit director for Darling Lili, The Moonshine War and Wild Rovers. In 1976 Crockett took his last acting role as President Gerald Ford (whom he strongly resembled) in The Pink Panther Strikes Again.
His last stunt work was as a stunt coordinator for 10 in 1979. The film was dedicated to him, as he died later that year of a myocardial infarction in Los Angeles.
Richard Morgan "Ric" Fliehr (born February 25, 1949), better known by his ring name Ric Flair, is an American professional wrestler currently signed to the WWE under a legends appearance contract. Also known as "The Nature Boy," Flair has cultivated a legacy as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, with a career that spans over 40 years. He is noted for his lengthy and highly decorated tenures with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, later WWE), and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).
Flair is officially recognized by WWE, TNA, and Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) as a 16-time world champion (eight-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and two-time WWF Champion). The actual number of his world championship reigns varies by source, ranging from 16 to 25 titles. A major pay-per-view attraction throughout his career, he has main-evented WWE's premier annual event, WrestleMania, and participated in the closing singles match of the NWA/WCW equivalent, Starrcade, on nine occasions.PWI awarded Flair their Wrestler of the Year Award a record six times, while Wrestling Observer Newsletter named Flair as the Wrestler of the Year on nine occasions. A two-time inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame, first inducted in 2008 for his individual career and for a second time in 2012 as a member of the Four Horsemen, he is also an NWA Hall of Famer. In WCW, he also had two stints as a booker – from 1989–1990 and again in 1994.
Roderick George "Roddy" Toombs (April 17, 1954 – July 31, 2015), better known by his ring name "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, was a Canadian professional wrestler, actor, and podcast host.
In professional wrestling, Piper was best known to international audiences for his work with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, later WWE) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW) between 1984 and 2000. Although he was Canadian, because of his Scottish heritage he was billed as coming from Glasgow and was known for his signature kilt and bagpipe entrance music. He earned the nicknames "Rowdy" and "Hot Rod" by displaying his trademark "Scottish" rage, spontaneity, and quick wit. Industry veteran Ric Flair hailed Piper as "the most gifted entertainer in the history of professional wrestling".
One of the most recognizable pro wrestling stars worldwide, Piper headlined numerous pay-per-view cards, including the WWF and WCW's respective premier annual events, WrestleMania and Starrcade. He accumulated 34 championships in various promotions during an in-ring career spanning 42 years. Piper's most notable rivals included Greg Valentine, Adrian Adonis, and Hulk Hogan, with the feud against Hogan also involving "Captain" Lou Albano and singer Cyndi Lauper, considered the beginning of Rock 'n' Wrestling. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and was named as the top villain in wrestling history by WWE.
