And Bernat - who Guardiola signed from Valencia during his time at the Allianz Arena - is seen as a perfect replacement for Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov.
He joins Bayern team-mate David Alaba on City's wishlist as Guardiola returns to his former club in a bid to improve his current squad.
