Plot: Not an adaptation of beat writer William S. Burrough's novel but a mix of biography and an interpretation of his drug- induced writing processes combined with elements of his work in this paranoid fantasy about Bill Lee, a writer who accidentally shoots his wife, whose typewriter transforms into a cockroach and who becomes involved in a mysterious plot in North African port called Interzone. Wonderfully bizarre, not unlike Burrough's books.

From the executive producer of ‘Bull Durham’ and ‘White Men Can't Jump’ comes SPACEMAN, the mostly-true story of former all-star MLB pitcher Bill 'Spaceman' Lee. In the twilight of a long career as one of baseball’s all-time great eccentrics, Lee (Josh Duhamel) is cut from the Montreal Expos in 1982. Though Lee finds himself blackballed by the rest of the league for his outspoken politics (his views being “somewhere to left of Che Guevara”) and notoriously enthusiastic drug use, he refuses to quit the game. As of 2016, he still hasn’t. Landing on August 19th, in theaters and on demand. Executive produced by Ron Shelton, Ben Lyons, and Eric Gagne. Directed by Brett Rapkin.
Piniella tried to score from second and looked like he would be an easy out. The throw from rightfielder Dwight Evans handcuffed Carlton Fisk, however, and Piniella slammed into the Boston catcher who was blocking the plate. The full-fledged brawl that ensued around the pitcher's mound.

While on a promotional tour for the new movie Spaceman, a biopic of his life in and out of Major League Baseball starring Josh Duhamel, big league legend Bill Lee recently went head-to-head in a softball game against the legendary HIGH TIMES Bonghitters. The friendly rivalry between "the Spaceman" and HIGH TIMES dates back to 1980, when Lee—still an active MLB pitcher—appeared on the magazine's cover, and recalled to HIGH TIMES his affinity for "sprinkling marijuana on organic buckwheat pancakes" before his daily five-mile jog. You're supposed to sit on your ass and nod at stupid things
Man, that's hard to do
And if you don't, they'll screw you
And if you do, they'll screw you, too
When I'm standing in the middle of the diamond all alone
I always play to win
When it comes to skin and bone
And sometimes I say things I shouldn't
Like....
