The Chicago "L" (short for "elevated") is the rapid transit system serving the city of Chicago and some of its surrounding suburbs in the U.S. state of Illinois. It is operated by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). It is the fourth largest rapid transit system in the United States in terms of total route length (at 102.8 miles (165.4 km) long), and the third busiest rail mass transit system in the United States after the New York City Subway and Washington Metro.
Chicago's "L" provides 24-hour service on some portions of its network, being one of only four rapid transit systems in the United States (the Chicago "L", the New York City Subway, PATH, and Philadelphia's PATCO Speedline) to do so. However, Chicago and New York City are the only cities in the US to offer 24 hour subway/elevated train service throughout their respective city limits every day (PATCO does not service throughout the city limits of Philadelphia). The oldest sections of the Chicago "L" started operations in 1892, making it the third-oldest rapid transit system in the Americas, after Boston's "T" and the elevated lines in New York City.
The L Word is an American/Canadian co-production television drama series portraying the lives of a group of lesbian, bisexual, straight and transgender people and their friends, connections, family and lovers in the trendy Greater Los Angeles, California city of West Hollywood. The show originally ran on Showtime from 2004 to 2009, and subsequently in syndication on Logo and through on-demand services.
The show was created by executive producer Ilene Chaiken (Barb Wire, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air). Other executive producers include Steve Golin (Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and Larry Kennar (Barbershop). Besides Chaiken, writers of the show have included Guinevere Turner (Go Fish, American Psycho), Susan Miller (Anyone But Me, Thirtysomething), Cherien Dabis (Amreeka), and Rose Troche (Go Fish, Six Feet Under).
The pilot episode premiered on January 18, 2004. The original six-year run ended with the series finale's airing on March 8, 2009. Outside the United States, the series is distributed by MGM Worldwide Television. The L Word was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, at Coast Mountain Films Studio, as well as on location in Los Angeles, California. The studio was once owned by and named for Dufferin Gate Productions, the sister company to Temple Street Productions, the Canadian producer of the U.S. version of Queer as Folk.

* (The orchestra strikes up a familiar tune, filling you with determination.) Part love letter to, and part deconstruction of a number of old school games, its surprising twists, entertaining characters and wonderful story (depending on which route you take, of course) wormed their way into the hearts of gamers worldwide. My favourite element of the game was its wonderful soundtrack, written by the game's main developer Toby Fox, featuring a number of charming recurring motifs and perfectly complementing the game's style. So here's my 20 minute sonic tour of Undertale, as played by symphony orchestra and rock band. If you haven't already played the game, go to http://www.undertale.com and buy it! I promise you won't regret it :) All music written by Toby "Radiation" Fox. Arranged, perf...
On our quest for Thai food, Jacob and I have a quick adventure on our second favorite form of transit- trains! This is one of the brown line trains in downtown Chicago, Il. Filmed March 2016 with TheElevatorChannel
I love this show, it's got some great characters, entertaining stories, just the right amount of absurdity and a lot of heart. It's also got a wonderful soundtrack, courtesy of the talented duo of Aivi & Surasshu, whose jazz piano + chiptune style has some interesting parallels to my own metal + orchestra approach. So here's my tribute to the wonderful music of Steven Universe, a 12 minute whirlwind tour of Steven's world done in my usual Symphonic Metal style. Translating some of this music led me in some rather odd directions, but I had a lot of fun doing this :) Original versions of all of the songs can be found over at Aivi & Surasshu's soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/aivisura Music written by Aivi & Surasshu, Rebecca Sugar, Jeff Liu and probably some other folk I'm forgetting. Keep lying subject changing
Kept and cleaned in fear
That laying down an answer
Might affect your clear
Complection neglecting what's
Inside your tear I know
More reasons to take
The sleeping voices you hear
Just to stay awake
More reasons to me
The sleeping voices you hear
Just to stay awake
We have approached to many
For the tub to drain
The cleansing portraits of
The names you take in vein
So pour the remaining
Pillows of restraint I know
Reasons awake
You're here to blame
Our veins to full
