Married woman, 28, found hanging at Delhi residence, family accuses husband of murder
New Delhi: The body of a 28-year-old married woman was found hanging in south Delhi's Katwariya Sarai area on Monday, with her family members alleging that she was murdered and tortured by her husband and in-laws, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Anita Kataria. Her body was found by her husband Ricky Kataria at around 5.20 am.
Anita's father-in-law is posted as a jail superintendent in Tihar Jail, while Ricky owns a taxi stand. Anita and Ricky have been married for seven years and have two children.
Meanwhile, Anita's family alleged that she was "mentally and physically tortured" by her husband and that he killed her and was trying to pass of the death as suicide, said a senior police officer.
Police is awaiting the autopsy report.
A social media post from Anita's cousin said, "She has been mentally as well as physically tortured. But being an Indian girl, she wanted to be wid her husband. She wanted everything to be normal but she never thought that she vl b killed by the person whom she luved."
