Jodi Carlisle

Jodi Carlisle (born August 28, 1960) is an American actress who has appeared in 46 television shows, 5 feature films and four television movies as well as a number of stage plays .Carlisle is perhaps best known as one of the principle voice actors on the long running children's animated TV series The Wild Thornberrys.

Voice Roles

Actress Jodi Carlisle has been performing voice work since 1982, beginning with the cartoon series Pac Man. Two of her main voice roles were the characters of Wendy Richter and The Fabulous Moohlah on the Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling Saturday morning cartoon series.In 1991 came the voice-role of Dr. Sarah Bellum in 5 episodes of Darkwing Duck. From 1992-1993 Carlisle provided additional voices in 26 episodes of Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa. There have also been four voice roles in video games and a number of audiobook narrations.

Perhaps her most popular voice performance was the clan mother character of Marianne Thornberry in the Nickelodeon animated TV series The Wild Thornberrys, voicing in all 90 episodes which ran from 1998 to 2004 as well as the feature films The Wild Thornberrys Movie released 2002 and Rugrats Go Wild released 2003. Both films were a success at the box office, grossing $60 million and $50 million respectively; however the critical reception was more favourable for The Wild Thornberrys Movie than Rugrats Go Wild with Rotten Tomatoes scores of 80% and 41%.

The Wild Thornberrys

The Wild Thornberrys is an American animated television series that aired on Nickelodeon. It was rerun in the United States on Nickelodeon and occasionally Nicktoons until 2007. The show returned to The '90s Are All That for one night, and aired on March 21, 2013. The show aired on Nicktoonsters in the United Kingdom. Following Shout! Factory's acquisition of the title in February 2011, all 5 seasons have been released on DVD.

Premise

The series focuses around a nomadic family of documentary filmmakers known as the Thornberrys, famous for their televised wildlife studies. It primarily centers on the family's younger daughter Eliza, and her secret gift of being able to communicate with animals, which was bestowed upon her after having rescued a shaman masquerading as a trapped warthog.

The gift enabled her to talk to the Thornberrys' pet chimpanzee Darwin. Together, the pair frequently venture through the wilderness, befriending many species of wild animals along the way or realizing moral truths and lessons through either their experiences or a particular animal species's lifestyle, or simply assisting the creatures, by which they become acquainted, in their difficulties.

The Wild

The Wild is a 2006 American computer animated adventure family comedy film directed by animator Steve "Spaz" Williams, written by Ed Decter, John J. Strauss, Mark Gibson and Philip Halprin, features the voices of Kiefer Sutherland, Jim Belushi, Janeane Garofalo, Greg Cipes, Eddie Izzard, Richard Kind, William Shatner and Patrick Warburton and produced by Clint Goldman, Will Vinton (who serves as an executive producer) and Beau Flynn. The film was a C.O.R.E. Feature Animation and Walt Disney Pictures production, and it was distributed by Buena Vista Pictures. It was released to theaters on April 14, 2006 in North America by Buena Vista Pictures and Walt Disney Pictures. The film received generally negative reviews from critics and it earned $102,338,515 on a $80 million budget.

Plot

The Wild Thornberrys Movie

The Wild Thornberrys Movie is a 2002 American animated adventure comedy-drama film based on the The Wild Thornberrys television series. The film follows Eliza Thornberry on her quest to rescue a baby cheetah cub named Tally from ruthless poachers.

It was produced by Nickelodeon Movies, and Klasky Csupo and distributed by Paramount Pictures, and was released on December 20, 2002.

Plot

12 year old Eliza Thornberry is playing with a family of cheetahs in East Africa, where her parents Nigel and Marianne Thornberry work as roving wildlife photographers for a television nature show. Eliza also rides on the back of a female elephant named Phaedra throughout the jungle. Eliza has been given the magical ability to talk and communicate with wild animals by Shaman Mnyambo. Eliza's older sister Debbie, a materialistic girl who dislikes Africa, and the girls have a mischievous adopted brother Donnie.

The cheetah mother, Akela, has left Eliza in charge of her cubs; however, Eliza strays beyond the security of the area, and one of the cheetah cubs, Tally, is kidnapped by poachers. Eliza's persistent efforts to rescue the cub lead her British grandmother Cordelia, who is visiting them, talk her parents into sending her off to a Boarding school in England, fearing that Eliza is constantly endangering herself in Africa and will be much safer at boarding school much to Debbie's dismay that Eliza gets to go instead of her. Darwin, Eliza's "pet" chimpanzee, smuggles himself into her luggage and travels to school with her. After a chaotic food fight at a dinner Darwin attends, he is discovered and gets Eliza in trouble. The headmistress tells Eliza that her grandmother will be disappointed in her. Eliza is still guilt ridden for causing Tally to be taken away by poachers.

Lacey Chabert

Lacey Nicole Chabert (/ˈʃəbɛr/; born September 30, 1982) is an American actress and voice actress. She first gained prominence as a child actress on television for her role as Claudia Salinger in the television drama Party of Five (1994–2000). She has also provided the voice of Eliza Thornberry in the animated series The Wild Thornberrys (1998–2004) and two feature films, and Meg Griffin during the first production season of the animated sitcom Family Guy. In film she has appeared in Lost in Space (1998), Not Another Teen Movie (2001), Daddy Day Care (2003), Mean Girls (2004), and the horror remake Black Christmas (2006).

Chabert has also appeared in various Hallmark Channel movies, saying "I love working for Hallmark, They've been so good to me. I have friends there now. I'm proud of their movies and the message of their movies."

Early life

Chabert was born in Purvis, Mississippi , the daughter of Julie (née Johnson) and Tony Chabert. Her father, a French-speaker from Louisiana, is of Cajun, Sicilian and English descent; he worked as a maintenance operations representative for an oil company. Her mother has English, Scottish, and remote Italian ancestry. Chabert has a younger brother, and two older sisters. She was "World's Baby Petite" in the "World's Our Little Miss Scholarship Competition in 1985. In 1992 and 1993 she played Young Cosette in the Broadway production of Les Misérables.
