Olivier Giacomotto

Olivier Giacomotto (born 2 February 1976 in Bordeaux, France) is a French electronic music producer and disc jockey (DJ), also known as Superskank, Ohmme, or OG.

Born in Bordeaux, France, he started his career in 1999 and first got into production by working in recording studios where he learned the use of samplers, mixing desks, effects, computers and music software. From Blues Café studio in Paris to Townhouse Studios in London, Olivier worked with Robert Suhas, Magnus Fiennes, Guy Pratt, Yohad Nevo, Pete Lewis, John Themis, Bond, Lyrics, and various other bands, producers, studio musicians and sound engineers.

Back to Bordeaux, he programs break-beat, drum'n'bass, triphop, hip-hop, lounge, ambient, in electronic projects like Shagshag, Dubweisers or Uprock Massive. During year 2002 with Shagshag, he won a remix contest organized by News and got his first vinyl released: Plastyc Buddha - Rhodes Royce (Shagshag Remix)

Step by step, Giacomotto progressively found his path into electronic dance music and its subgenres like techno, electro, house, tech-house, and deep house. He released his work on independent labels such as Definitive Recordings, Plus 8, Toolroom, and 1605. Meanwhile, he performs around the world as DJ: his mixing sessions can be described as sexy, funky, punchy and groovy.

Originality

Originality is the aspect of created or invented works by as being new or novel, and thus can be distinguished from reproductions, clones, forgeries, or derivative works. An original work is one not received from others nor one copied from or based upon the work of others.. It is a work created with a unique style and substance. The term "originality" is often applied as a compliment to the creativity of artists, writers, and thinkers. The idea of originality as we know it was invented by Romanticism, with a notion that is often called romantic originality.

The concept of originality is culturally contingent. It became an ideal in Western culture starting from the 18th century. In contrast, at the time of Shakespeare it was common to appreciate more the similarity with an admired classical work, and Shakespeare himself avoided "unnecessary invention".

Originality in law

In law, originality has become an important legal concept with respect to intellectual property, where creativity and invention have manifest as copyrightable works. In the patent law of the United States and most other countries, only original inventions are subject to protection. In addition to being original, inventions submitted for a patent must also be useful and nonobvious.

Tech house

Tech house is a subgenre of house music that mixes elements of techno with house. The term tech house developed as a shorthand record store name for a category of electronic dance music that combined musical aspects of techno, such as "rugged basslines" and "steely beats," with the harmonies and grooves of progressive house. The music originally had a clean and minimal production style that was associated with techno from Detroit and the UK. In the mid to late 1990s a scene developed in England around club nights such as The Drop run by Mr.C & Plink Plonk, Heart & Soul, and Wiggle run by Terry Francis and Nathan Coles. Other DJs and artists associated with the sound at that time included Charles Webster, Bushwacka!, Dave Angel, Herbert, Funk D'Void, Ian O'Brien, Derrick Carter, and Stacey Pullen. By the late 90's London nightclub The End, owned by the former Shamen rapper Richard West (Mr C) and Layo Paskin, was considered the home of tech house in the UK. Tech House tracks are typically between 6-10 minutes in length.

Beautiful Place

Beautiful Place is the fifth studio album by Swedish singer and songwriter Johan Christher Schütz, released on 28 July 2013 by One Perfect Line Music. Japanese record label IDÉE Records, a subsidiary of interior design company IDÉE, released the album on CD.

All songs are written, arranged and produced by Schütz, with the exception of Over the Rainbow, the classic musical theatre song from the 1939 musical movie The Wizard of Oz. Musically, it shows a return to his Latin and world music roots, also further exploring the acoustic folk and musical theatre which has been Schütz' main focus since 2013.

Beautiful Place was recorded in a seaside studio south of Tokyo, Japan, with mainly Japanese musicians - Show Kudo (bass), Kazuya Saka (piano & keyboards), Kaoru Suzuki (drums), and featuring Andreas Andersson (clarinet), who also performed on Peacebird.

The title song was released together with a shadow puppetry music video by Malaysian film maker JT Wong, based on his film Malaysian Wildlife, available on Video on YouTube.
