A Logistics Officer is a member the Coast Guard or an Armed Force responsible for overseeing the support of an Army, Air Force, Navy or Coast Guard Fleet both at home and abroad. Logistics Officers can be stationary on military bases or deployed as an active part of a field army, air wing, naval force or Coast Guard Fleet. The responsibilities of Logistics Officers vary, depending on where they are deployed and what tasks they are assigned. In addition, different countries, have different roles for Logistics Officers. The main role of these officers remains the same regardless of where they are stationed; to ensure that the force is supplied with enough food, water, fuel, ammunition and other goods and services to complete the task at hand.
Logistics Officers with the Canadian Coast Guard are responsible for a wide variety of duties that help maintain the operation of a vessel. They work closely with the Commanding Officer to coordinate the administration of the ships financial resources. Logistics officers are responsible for purchasing, receiving, storing and issuing of all materials for the ship and any other offshore military establishment. This includes professional training in techniques and practices of accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cost/benefit and risk analysis. Also: Logistics officers with DND work in five main disciplines: Human Resource Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Food Services and Transportation and have the opportunity to specialize as movement, postal or ammunition technical officers. Logistics Officers in the Canadian Armed Forces are assigned to one of the three services branches, and while each branch requires specialized knowledge unique to the particular operational environment, Logistics Officers are expected to be capable of serving in any operational role when required.
Logistics is generally the detailed organization and implementation of a complex operation. In a general business sense, logistics is the management of the flow of things between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet requirements of customers or corporations. The resources managed in logistics can include physical items, such as food, materials, animals, equipment and liquids, as well as abstract items, such as time and information. The logistics of physical items usually involves the integration of information flow, material handling, production, packaging, inventory, transportation, warehousing, and often security.
In military science, logistics is concerned with maintaining army supply lines while disrupting those of the enemy, since an armed force without resources and transportation is defenseless. Military logistics was already practiced in the ancient world and as modern military have a significant need for logistics solutions, advanced implementations have been developed, especially for the United States Armed Forces. In military logistics, logistics officers manage how and when to move resources to the places they are needed.

The Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) is a salmon in the family Salmonidae. It is found in the northern Atlantic Ocean, in rivers that flow into the north Atlantic and, due to human introduction, in the north Pacific.
Other names used to reference Atlantic salmon are: bay salmon, black salmon, caplin-scull salmon, Sebago salmon, silver salmon, fiddler, or outside salmon. At different points in their maturation and life cycle, they are known as parr, smolt, grilse, grilt, kelt, slink, and spring salmon. Atlantic salmon that do not journey to sea, usually because of past human interference, are known as landlocked salmon or ouananiche.
The Atlantic salmon was given its scientific binomial name by zoologist and taxonomist Carl Linnaeus in 1758. Later, the differently coloured smolts were found to be the same species.
The name, Salmo salar, is from the Latin salmo, meaning salmon, and salar, meaning leaper, according to M. Barton, but more likely meaning "resident of salt water". Lewis and Short's Latin Dictionary (Clarendon Press, Oxford, 1879) translates salar as a kind of trout from its use in the Idylls of the poet Ausonius (4th century CE).
An air force academy or air academy is a national institution that provides initial officer training, possibly including undergraduate level education, to air force officer cadets who are preparing to be commissioned officers in a national air force. The world's first air academy was the RAF (Cadet) College (now called the Royal Air Force College) which was founded on 1 November 1919 on the site of a Royal Navy flying training station.
Many nations support air academies, some of which are:

As Jackie Battenfield points out in The Artist’s Guide: How to Make a Living Doing What You Love, business tactics such as planning, assessment, time management, and negotiation are seldom offered to artists in ways that are relevant to their individual practices. Lacking fundamental business skills, many of us ignore career strategizing in favor of fantasizing about gallerists and curators knocking down our studio doors and launching our careers for us. The Artist’s Guide reminds us that no one is coming to save us—that we must instead carefully plan for a successful, sustainable art career and overcome the doubts and fears that have the potential to derail us. On 10 October, 2010, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) staff members in more than 100 countries worldwide took part in a collaborative film project to document the work of UNDP. For many, this was their first time using a video camera. The result of their collaborative efforts is an 8 minute film highlighting the breath of UNDP’s impact. It offers a glimpse into the daily operations of country offices across the globe, showcasing what UNDP does and how it manages its global partnerships. The film also highlights the diversity of cultures with which UNDP works and emphasizes the particular UN priority issues and Millennium Development Goals that UNDP addresses. The finished product, entitled “UNDP’s One Day on Earth,” takes on the form of a collage, capturing unprecedented video s...

Real-time interaction with industrial robots On September 26th the Vienna Tourist Board will be hosting an event where Alex Kiessling is creating artworks not only in Vienna, but simultaneously in Berlin, at Breitscheidplatz, and London, at Trafalgar Square. Alex is using two industrial robots (ABB IRB 4600) who are fed by real-time tracking data from Vienna via satellite connection to the remote cities. The result will be three artworks that are later brought together to built a triptych. By reading data from an infra-red touch frame and a Microsoft Kinect we analyze the movements of the artist and then the data is translated to feed the coordinates to the robots’ servers — difficult process since the robots’ software was not designed to interpret real-time data. The robots then recrea...

BEST VIEWED IN HD AND FULLSCREEN (with scaling off) The Incomparable Ponoi : This short film was shot during the 2011 fishing season. The Ryabaga Camp on the Ponoi River epitomizes all that we love about a remote fishing experience: the excitement of a true wilderness location yet an oasis of comfort; hospitality and fine cuisine; a totally wild Atlantic salmon population that is thriving – where the efforts to care for the stocks really do show positive results; and a team of people whose attitudes to service, work ethic and team spirit are second to none. Well into its third decade of operation in one of the most logistically complex parts of the world, under the stewardship of the Ponoi River Co and Frontiers, the Ryabaga and Brevyeni Camps on the Ponoi River have achieved extraor...

The Drachk destroyed another large Draco Military Command and Supply base on a huge asteroid, about the size of Nebiru. Scientists have just seen such an event through the Hubble but last week another large outpost was destroyed. This will continue until there are no more. The Allied Commander of the new Alliance War Fleet has just been reassigned to head the logistics office for The Alliance. A Drachk officer has taken his place out in the field. This happened shortly after the last attack on a primary Draco Outpost. There was a larger loss of life this time, not a happy moment. There's also info here on something confusing NASA and all the other scientists. Our ET family members are placing energy harnesses on some stars for reasons I explained inside. ...

After the first weeks of continuous and uninterrupted fighting, the Coalition is starting to struggle with the upkeep of their field supplies in the Turkish frontline, while UGA forces are still well supplied. Because of this, special Vympel Recon Teams have been tasked to find a way to hinder the Globalist supply line. Luckily, they soon discovered that UGA Logistic Officers have been converting old, derelict facilities to Supply Depots near the field, to decrease costs and delivery times. The location of one of these depots was pinpointed: an old hydro sewage facility in the UGA-controlled outskirts of Kars, near the city of Hanak. The Coalition has diverted a few well selected squads from the frontline to attack this facility. They have managed to sneak in undetected thanks to the i...
