MOLLY RINGWALD SINGS IN ASBURY PARK
We all know Molly Ringwald for her seminal roles in '80s teen films like "The Breakfast Club" and "Pretty in Pink." What many don't know is that Ringwald is actually a singer -- she released a jazz record in 2013 titled "Except Sometimes" and has performed in over 200 concerts in seven different countries. (Looking at Ringwald's family tree this makes sense -- her father is renowned jazz guitarist Bob Ringwald.) Ms. Ringwald will perform two shows of jazz standards at The House of Independents in Asbury Park. And if you're wondering, she does in fact perform a jazz cover of Simple Minds' "Don't You (Forget About Me)," the song made famous in "The Breakfast Club." $35. Sunday, 5:30 & 7:30 p.m. 572 Cookman Avenue, Asbury Park. 866-777-8932.
