Disney has big plans for Star Wars, and although it turns out that not all the spinoffs will be set in the past, there remains a lot of backstories and events only alluded to in the main series to explore.
And one of those will apparently be dealt with in the film that we will continue to delight in calling the Han Solo solo movie until a better (or worse) name is offered.
According to Hollywood Reporter writer Borys Kit, the film will show the moment that Lando Calrissian bet the Millennium Falcon... and famously lost.
Of course, the event was referenced when Han and Lando are reunited on Cloud City in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Let's hope this revelation is more interesting than what the Clone Wars turned out to be.
In the old continuity, Han won the starship in a game of the sabacc, but we're betting that Disney will make the exchange a bit more exciting than the pair sitting down for a tense game of cards.
We've just learned that the rumours surrounding Lando are true, and that Community's Donald Glover will be playing the young version of Star Wars' second most notorious rake opposite Alden Ehrenreich in the film.
The Lego Movie's Phil Lord and Chris Miller will direct the film, which is currently still searching for its female lead (suspected to be Han's sort-of wife, Sana Starros).
The Han Solo film is currently scheduled to be released on May 25, 2018.
