Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar (i/ˌsətʃɪn tɛnˈduːlkər/; born 24 April 1973) is a former Indian cricketer and captain, widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen of all time. He took up cricket at the age of eleven, made his Test debut on 15 November 1989 against Pakistan in Karachi at the age of sixteen, and went on to represent Mumbai domestically and India internationally for close to twenty-four years. He is the only player to have scored one hundred international centuries, the first batsman to score a double century in a One Day International, holds the record for most number of runs in both ODI and Test cricket, the only player to complete more than 30,000 runs in international cricket.
In 2002 just half way through his career, Wisden Cricketers' Almanack ranked him the second greatest Test batsman of all time, behind Don Bradman, and the second greatest ODI batsman of all time, behind Viv Richards. Later in his career, Tendulkar was a part of the Indian team that won the 2011 World Cup, his first win in six World Cup appearances for India. He had previously been named "Player of the Tournament" at the 2003 edition of the tournament, held in South Africa. In 2013, he was the only Indian cricketer included in an all-time Test World XI named to mark the 150th anniversary of Wisden Cricketers' Almanack.
This page presents some of the notable achievements of Sachin Tendulkar, a former Indian cricketer, universally regarded as one of the best batsmen of all time. Debates on Tendulkar's precise rank amongst his predecessors are unlikely to conclude soon. He was the sport's first batsman to score a double century (200 runs) in a single One Day International match, and is so far the only player to have scored one hundred centuries in internationals. He played first-class cricket for 26 years and one day, whilst his international career spanned exactly 24 years from 15 November 1989 to 15 November 2013.

His total of 51 centuries in Test matches and 49 in ODIs are world records for highest number of centuries by a batsman. He became the first and only cricketer to score 100 international centuries when he made 114 against Bangladesh in March 2012.

He made his highest score in 2004, when he made 248 not out against Bangladesh at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka. Tendulkar has scored six double centuries and remained unbeaten on 15 occasions. His centuries have come in 30 different cricket grounds, with 27 of them being scored in venues outside India. Tendulkar has been dismissed nine times between scores of 90 and 99.
The crowd were treated to the genius of Sachin Tendulkar, whose first innings of 72 off 27 balls demonstrated the brilliance of his batting, and helped him gain the man of the match award. It didn't matter that he had never played the game before. He took to it just as would be expected of a player of his stature, with all the class of a champion. It didn't take him long to find the lucrative Max zone behind the bowler and he plundered the bowling as Tama Canning and Jacob Oram went for 25 runs each off successive overs.
Sachin Tendulkar vs Glenn McGrath Champions Trophy 2000 - Watch this historic Sachin vs McGrath Cricket battle as Sachin Tendulkar launches into Glenn McGrath with 2 masterful fours and 3 ruthless sixes, one of which is probably the longest six by Sachin Tendulkar which went out of the stadium This was in the India vs Australia ICC Knockout 2000 Quarter-Final match in Nairobi and is one of Sachin Tendulkar's most aggressive approach to an innings as he looked to unsettle McGrath early on and grab the early initiative. McGrath gave Sachin a little sledge early on and that was the cardinal mistake he made. Sachin Tendulkar sledges Glenn McGrath too - the first time in his career, which completely rattled the Aussie quick and McGrath understandably lost his composure as India gained the u...

Sachin Tendulkar 24 Runs off 3 Legal Balls - During India's tour of New Zealand 2002/03, there was a unique concept of a "Cricket Max International" match where each team was played 2 innings, with a maximum of only 10 overs for each innings. There were designated trapezoidal areas called "Max Zones", one at each end of the field behind the bowler and any ball hit into the Max zone doubles the number of runs scored from that ball, whether by running between the wickets, or a boundary 4 or 6. A batsman gets 8 runs for a FOUR and 12 runs for a SIX hit in the Max Zone, that is, 1 Four = 8 Runs and 1 Six = 12 Runs. This is now a Max is a defunct form of cricket which was invented in New Zealand. In the India vs. New Zealand Cricket Max International 2002, Sachin Tendulkar 72 off 27 Balls i...
