In this video, we explore the magnificent sights and attractions in and around the mountain resort town of Sapa, in the northwestern region of Vietnam.
Sapa is surrounded by mountains, including the highest mountain in all of Indochina - Fansipan, at 3,143m above sea level. A cable car , which is the longest in the world now runs to the summit of the mountain.
The area is also attractive due to its cool climate, beautiful flower displays, spectacular waterfalls, interesting markets, tasty barbecued food and colourfully dressed ethnic minority people from surrounding villages, such as the Hmong, Dao and the Giay groups.

The area is one of the most beautiful and exotc places on earth. Sapa is home to ethnic minority tribes including the Hmong and the Dao. The video begins with a night train trip from Hanoi to Lao Cai and then a trip into what the French called the "Tonkinese Alps". The area has the tallest mountain in Southeast Asia, giant nature preserves, water falls and native markets. We visit Bac Ha and see the Flower Hmong pepole. Then we take a river cruise on the Chay River and visit native people. A truely incredible place.

Northern Vietnam
Northern Vietnam (Vietnamese: Miền Bắc) is one of the three regions within Vietnam (the other two regions are Central Vietnam and Southern Vietnam).
Of the three regions, the oldest is Northern Vietnam, where the Vietnamese culture originated over 2000 years ago in the Red River Delta, though Vietnamese people eventually spread south into the Mekong Delta.

The name Vietnam translates as "Southern Viet" (synonymous with the much older term Nam Viet); it was first officially adopted in 1802 by Emperor Gia Long, and was adopted again in 1945 with the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam under Ho Chi Minh. The country is bordered by China to the north, Laos to the northwest, Cambodia to the southwest, and Malaysia across the South China Sea to the southeast. Hà Giang
Hà Giang ( listen) is a city located on the banks of the Lô River in the north-east region of Vietnam. It is the capital of Hà Giang Province. The city has an area of 135.33 km² and a population of 71,689 inhabitants. The population is composed of 22 different ethnicities, of which 55.7% are Kinh and Tày people.
History
Up until the 19th century the settlement of Vị Xuyên, to the south of Hà Giang (chu Han: 河江), was the principal market town in the area. Under the Nguyễn dynasty the town of Hà Giang, in what is now the Trần Phú District, began to grow in size. In 1842 the town was included in the former Tuyên Quang Province. The town became an important French military outpost after 1886.
On August 12, 1991, The province of Hà Giang was re-established and separated from Tuyên Quang Province. When separated, Hà Giang Province contained 10 administrative units, and Ha Giang town became the provincial town of Hà Giang.
On September 27 of 2010, Hà Giang town was officially upgraded into a provincial city.

Vietnam! Vietnam!
Vietnam, Vietnam was a United States Information Agency (USIA) film about the Vietnam War. The film, narrated by Charlton Heston, was shot on location in Vietnam in October–December 1968 but not released until 1971. Though John Ford, the executive producer, went to Vietnam, he did not participate in production work there. Ford later did supervise the editing and rewrote the film scenario.
Bruce Herschensohn, the producer, remarked that the purpose of the film was to provide a "balance" to the view which critics of the war were providing. Due to the changing political situation in Vietnam, the film went through numerous cuts and script alterations over a three-year period and, when finally released, managed to offend almost everyone. Critical reviews were unfavorable. USIA Director Frank Shakespeare left the decision on whether to order a copy of the film up to individual US Embassies abroad, and only a few did.

Sapa is surrounded by mountains, including the highest mountain in all of Indochina - Fansipan, at 3,143m above sea level. A cable car , which is the longest in the world now runs to the summit of the mountain. The area is also attractive due to its cool climate, beautiful flower displays, spectacular waterfalls, interesting markets, tasty barbecued food and colourfully dressed ethnic minority people from surrounding villages, such as the Hmong, Dao and the Giay groups.

In this video, we explore the magnificent sights and attractions in and around the mountain resort town of Sapa, in the northwestern region of Vietnam. Sapa is surrounded by mountains, including the highest mountain in all of Indochina - Fansipan, at 3,143m above sea level. A cable car , which is the longest in the world now runs to the summit of the mountain. The area is also attractive due to its cool climate, beautiful flower displays, spectacular waterfalls, interesting markets, tasty barbecued food and colourfully dressed ethnic minority people from surrounding villages, such as the Hmong, Dao and the Giay groups.

Being the most far-flung province in Vietnam, Ha Giang is 300 km far away from Hanoi, leaning on the rocky mountain. Sharing the borderline with Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai and part of China, Ha Giang is the home of several ethnic tribes, including Dao, H’mong, Tay, Nung.
