Jiangsu ( listen ), earlier romanized as Kiangsu, is an eastern coastal province of the People's Republic of China, with its capital in Nanjing. Jiangsu is the second smallest, but the fifth most populous and the most densely populated of the 22 provinces of China. Jiangsu is the Number 2 province in GDP. Jiangsu borders Shandong in the north, Anhui to the west, and Zhejiang and Shanghai to the south. Jiangsu has a coastline of over 1,000 kilometres (620 mi) along the Yellow Sea, and the Yangtze River passes through the southern part of the province.
Its name comes from Jiang, short for the city of Jiangning (江寧, now Nanjing), and su, for the city of Suzhou. The abbreviation for this province is "苏" (sū), the second character of its name.
Since the Sui and Tang dynasties, Jiangsu has become one of the nation's economic and commercial centers, partly due to the construction of Grand Canal. Yangzhou, Nanjing, Wuxi, Suzhou and Shanghai have all been among the foremost hubs of economic activity in China. Shanghai was separated from Jiangsu to become a municipality in 1927. Since the initiation of economic reforms in 1990, Jiangsu has become a focal point for economic development. It is widely regarded as China's most developed province measured by its Human Development Index (HDI). However, its development is not evenly distributed, with the Wu-speaking southern part of the province being significantly more well-off than its Mandarin-speaking north, which sometimes causes tensions between northern and southern residents.

PHUKET, THAILAND — This Beijing woman, known as “Sister Bin,” is perhaps fsat becoming the world’s favorite Chinese tourist. Why? Because she had the audacity to call out her greedy fellow Chinese tourists for trying to take home a piece of wood from Lover’s Beach in Phuket, Thailand. The Great Wall at Jinshanling is about 155 kilometers away from downtown Beijing and stretches from Miyun County of Beijing to Luanping County of Hebei Province. It is the best preserved part of the Great Wall in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) with many original features. Jinshanling connects to the Great Wall at Simatai in the east and Great Wall at Gubeikou in the west. The name of Jinshanling comes from two watchtowers, Great Jinshan Tower and Small Jinshan Tower on the Great Wall in this region. It was said that 3,000 soldiers from Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, under the command of famous Ming General Qijiguang (1528-1587), built two watchtowers and named them after the Great Jinshan Island and Small Jinshan Island in their hometown to show their sentimental feelings.

We live around the hydro towers,Listen to them singing in the park
Wind our clock too tight, And all the radios are glowing in the dark
Mothers lie down in the day time, And dream about Hollywood
I know that they'd get there if they could
It's just a matter of time, Before we get to shine
It's not a question of when, Or who does the crime
We show our skin through picture windows,
Sit around cross legged on the floor
Our living rooms electric, TVs, light bulbs, irons, cancer to the core
Out in our back yards waiting,For women in flying saucers
Under the stars and power lines
The fans and the air conditioners, Runnin' in movie houses,
