Angeles, Philippines

Angeles (Kapampangan: Lakanbalen ning Angeles; Tagalog: Lungsod ng Angeles) is a highly urbanized city located geographically within the province of Pampanga in the Philippines. It is bordered by Mabalacat to the north; Mexico to the east; San Fernando to the southeast; Bacolor to the south; and Porac to the southwest and west. The city administers itself autonomously from Pampanga and, as of the 2010 census, it has a population of 326,336.

Angeles is served by the Clark International Airport in the Clark Freeport Zone. As the former home of Clark Air Base (then the largest United States military facility outside of the continental United States), it was significantly affected by the pullout brought about by the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991. The economy of Angeles was heavily dependent on the American base at that time. The city is also infamous for its red-light district centered on Fields Avenue.

In 1993, a full cleanup and removal of volcanic ash deposits began and the former U.S. base re-emerged as Clark Special Economic Zone (CSEZ). The creation of CSEZ has helped to offset the loss of income and jobs previously generated by the presence of the U.S. base in the city. Today, Angeles and Clark form the hub for business, industry, aviation, and tourism in the Philippines as well as a leisure, fitness, entertainment and gaming center of Central Luzon.

Plot

Seamus (Ciaran Flynn) is a 9 year old boy who has been diagnosed with a serious illness. In search of a miracle, he sets off to find God before God comes for him. Inspired by Saint Columcille and his journey to the island of Iona, Seamus sets out in a small boat without oars or sail. On his quest he encounters James (John Travers) and Darry (Shane Brolly). Despite initial conflict, the trio decide to stay together and enter upon a journey that results in the healing of hearts and minds.

21 Ángeles (TransMilenio)

The simple station 21 Ángeles is part of the TransMilenio mass-transit system of Bogotá, Colombia, which opened in the year 2000.

Location

The station is located in northwestern Bogotá, specifically on Avenida Suba with Transversal 84.

The station serves the demand of the Los Pinos area, Las Terrazas, as well as the Altos de Chozica and Provenza neighborhoods.

A few blocks away is the bridge that connects the two hills of Suba, separated by the avenue (Transversal 66 or 81).

History

In 2006, phase two of the TransMilenio system was completed, including the Avenida Suba line, on which this station is located.

The station is named 21 Ángeles due to its proximity to the site where 21 students of the Agustianio Norte school were killed on April 28, 2004 when the bus on which they were riding was crushed by a construction vehicle that was on the higher road. The roads in this area are at different heights due to the difficult, mountainous terrain.

Chuí (Portuguese pronunciation: [ʃuˈi]) is a municipality located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. A border town, it shares its name with sister city Chuy, Uruguay. The two towns constitute one contiguous urban area, divided by a border street called Avenida Internacional, a situation also seen in a few other Brazilian border points, such as between Santana do Livramento (Brazil) and Rivera (Uruguay).

Formerly a village under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Santa Vitória do Palmar, Chuí became the southernmost municipality in Brazil in 1997, when it seceded. It is very close to Brazil's southernmost point, located on a bend of the homonymous river just before its mouth on the Atlantic Ocean, near the hamlet of Barra do Chuí. Both the hamlet and the extreme point itself remained in the territory of Santa Vitória do Palmar after Chuí seceded. Still, Chuí holds the title of the southernmost urban seat of a municipality in Brazil. Its counterparts in the North, West and East are respectively Uiramutã, state of Roraima; Mâncio Lima, Acre; and João Pessoa, Paraíba.
