Luis Eduardo Aute

Luis Eduardo Aute Gutiérrez-Répide (born September 13, 1943) is a Spanish cultural icon and polymath. Best known for his work as a cantautor (songwriter and singer), Aute is part of the musical tradition known as Nueva Cancion. During his long career, he has written over four hundred songs, many of them now considered classics. In addition to music, Aute is a well-respected artist, poet, and filmmaker with an impressive body of work.

Biography

First years in the Philippines

Luis Eduardo Aute was born in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, on September 13, 1943. His father, a Catalan (from Catalonia, Spain) had worked in that country for a tobacco company since 1919 and was married to a Filipina of Spanish descent. In his childhood, Aute studied at the De La Salle School, where he learned English and Tagalog, which is used within his family. At an early age, he showed unusual ability as a painter and sketcher. Another childhood passion was cinema; his interest in filmmaking was abetted by his parents' giving him an 8 mm camera, which he used to produce home-made movies with his friends.

Sachin (actor)

Sachin Pilgaonkar (Marathi: सचिन पिळगावकर; born 17 August 1957), often known by his first name Sachin, is an Indian film and television actor, director, singer, and producer.

Starting as a child actor, in Marathi film, Ha Majha Marg Ekla (1962), he went on to act in around 65 films as a child artist, before switching to adult roles, and giving hits like Geet Gaata Chal (1975),Balika Badhu (1976),Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se (1978), and Nadiya Ke Paar (1982) as a lead actor. He has worked in Hindi, Marathi and also in Bhojpuri cinema, and has acted, produced and directed successful comedy shows on Indian television, including Tu Tu Main Main (2000) and Kadvee Khatti Meethi. Besides that he also directed several hit Marathi films starting with Mai Baap (1982), Navri Mile Navryala (1984), Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi (1988), Amchyasarkhe Aamich (1990) and Navra Mazha Navsacha (2004).

Early life

Sachin Pilagaonkar was born in Mumbai in a Marathi family. His father Sharad Pilgaonkar ran a printing press in Mumbai but it collapsed from flood and heavy rain and he died shortly after.

Sachin State

The Sachin State (Gujarati: સચીન રિયાસત; Urdu: سچن ریاست‎) was a princely state belonging to the Surat Agency, former Khandesh Agency, of the Bombay Presidency during the era of the British Raj. Its capital was in Sachin, the southernmost town of present-day Surat district of Gujarat State.

History

Sachin state was founded on 6 June 1791. Although over 85% of the subjects were Hindu, the state was ruled by Sunni Muslim Sufis of the Sidi dynasty of Danfa-Rajpuri and Janjira State. The Sidi dynasty is of African origin.

Sachin State was under the protection of the Maratha Peshwa until it became a British protectorate. The state became bankrupt in 1829 and during the period between 1835 and 1864 the state was under British civil administration. It had its own cavalry, currency, and stamped paper, as well as a state band that included Africans.

Fatima Begum (1892 - 1983), one of the early superstars in Indian cinema and India's first female film director, was allegedly married to Nawab Sidi Ibrahim Muhammad Yakut Khan III of Sachin State. But Sachin royal family sources cast a veil over this claiming no record of a marriage or contract having taken place between the Nawab and Fatima Bai or of the Nawab having officially recognised their children, Sultana, Zubeida and Shehzadi, as his own.Sultana, the daughter of Fatima Begum, became a leading figure in early Indian movies.Zubeida, leading actress of India's first talkie film Alam Ara (1931), was her younger sister.
