Today I have yet ANOTHER series to introduce to you guys called “Beautiful Disasters”. Since my elemental series has been taking off, I’ve had several new series ideas that are kind of spin offs of the elemental. There were some suggested and some I added on myself so there’s plenty to come in the future! I cover the topic of a tornado and decided to make her a ballerina! Because of the swirling motion of a tornado, I wanted to try and replicate it in the pose, which made me think of graceful ballerinas! (I also see one every Saturday when I go to school!) Above is the link to the reference photo I used to study ballerina twirling poses and their graceful hands. Unfortunately, I did not like how the hair turned out in the end. In the sketch, it looked a lot more like a tornado, imitating the shape a tornado would take. Maybe I’ll change it when I make a digital version! I do like how the dress turned out! Especially since that was the focal point of the drawing! I wanted to make the top part tight and at the end, it flared out into clouds! Hopefully that came across. Coincidentally, she looks like Duchess Swan from Ever After High! Totally did not realize it until afterwards, but oh well! Hope you like the new series!
