8 'unauthorized' workers found at five check-posts

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat anti-corruption bureau (ACB) found a total of eight private persons working at five check posts inspected on October 21. The agency has filed two applications of complaint in this case.
ACB officials said five teams were formed to check Amirgadh, Samakhiyali, Gundri, Tharad and Shamlaji check-posts after reports of malpractices. The teams went incognito and observed their functioning. The ACB officials found six persons working without an official contract and two at Shamlaji. "When questioned, the check-post officials defended their action saying there was dearth of staff. Hence, they had got personnel for non-direct work at the check-post," said a senior ACB official. He also said that they had reported it to higher authorities.
