Welsh people
The Welsh people (Welsh: Cymry) are a nation and ethnic group native to, or otherwise associated with, Wales and the Welsh language. The language was historically spoken throughout Wales, with its predecessor Old British once spoken throughout most of the British mainland. While Welsh remains the predominant language in some areas of Wales, English is the predominant language in most parts of the country.
John Davies argues that the origin of the "Welsh nation" can be traced to the late 4th and early 5th centuries, following the Roman departure from Britain, although Brythonic Celtic languages seem to have been spoken in Wales far longer. The term Welsh people applies to people from Wales and people of Welsh ancestry perceiving themselves or being perceived as sharing a cultural heritage and shared ancestral origins. Today, Wales is a country that is part of the United Kingdom and the island of Great Britain, and the majority of people living in Wales are British citizens.
An analysis of the geography of Welsh surnames commissioned by the Welsh Government found that 718,000 people, or nearly 35% of the Welsh population, have a family name of Welsh origin, compared with 5.3% in the rest of the United Kingdom, 4.7% in New Zealand, 4.1% in Australia, and 3.8% in the United States, with an estimated 16.3 million people in the countries studied having, at least partial, Welsh ancestry. Over 300,000 Welsh people live in London.

GWR 5043 - An Autumn Castle Over The Welsh Borders - 2016
5043 'Earl Of Mount Edgecumbe' heads an excursion to Chester returning via Wrexham & Shrewsbury. The return leg would see the Castle class on rare ground as it as it passed through the borders of England & Wales. The day resulted in a mixed set of results. The video starts at Sutton Park, where 5043 is seen on the two mile straight through Europe's seventh largest urban park. Swiftly round the corner the loco is seen passing an east bound freight train at Hardwick crossing. Now into Cheshire, we next catch the class 7 making good headway through Wardle as it sweeps round the curve towards Beeston Castle. For the return leg we found two nice angles at Chirk Bank Summit (1/140) Unfortunately the loco was eased off for some reason, as I was expecting the usual fireworks from 5043, fortunat...

5043 'Earl Of Mount Edgecumbe' heads an excursion to Chester returning via Wrexham & Shrewsbury. The return leg would see the Castle class on rare ground as it as it passed through the borders of England & Wales. The day resulted in a mixed set of results.
The video starts at Sutton Park, where 5043 is seen on the two mile straight through Europe's seventh largest urban park. Swiftly round the corner the loco is seen passing an east bound freight train at Hardwick crossing. Now into Cheshire, we next catch the class 7 making good headway through Wardle as it sweeps round the curve towards Beeston Castle.
For the return leg we found two nice angles at Chirk Bank Summit (1/140) Unfortunately the loco was eased off for some reason, as I was expecting the usual fireworks from 5043, fortunately we was blessed with some superb Autumn conditions which made for a lovely scene. The final scene sees the Earl accelerating away from a signal check at Cosford station as it hits the bottom of the 1/137 & 1/100 Bank to Kingswood. There should of been another shot at Albrighton, but unfortunately I was bombarded with a mass of spectators & noise which in turn made the sequence unusable.
