Moto3: A horror crash involving John McPhee, Enea Bastianini, Andrea Migno and Jorge Navarro caused the Australian Moto3 Grand Prix to be stopped after five laps.

Crash carnage in Moto 3 grand prix as riders injured, causing red flag at Phillip Island

A DRAMATIC crash involving four of the leading riders stopped the Moto3 race after five laps.

The field was dropping down into MG Corner when bikes and riders spread across the track, bringing out the red flag.

Brit John McPhee was taken away by ambulance.

Enea Bastiannini was one of the riders taken down and was hit at the bottom of the hill by Andrea Migno.

Jorge Navarro was the other entrant down in the chaos.

A total of 12 riders crashed in the opening five lap in a dramatic start.

The race was restarted but shortened to just 10 laps to go, South African Brad Binder emerging victorious.
