Man returns breath alcohol reading of 0.314 after Truganina crash

A MAN who recorded a blood alcohol reading almost seven times the legal limit was arrested in Truganina last night after crashing into a parked car.

Police were called to the minor collision in Lumiere Boulevard about 8.50pm on October 22.

On arrival, police found the driver, a 36-year-old Tarneit man, slumped over the wheel of his car.

He was uninjured but returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.314 per cent.

Police spokesman Thomas O’Byrne said it was soon discovered the drunk driver was unlicensed and his car was unregistered.

He was arrested in relation to an outstanding warrant and taken to the Werribee Police Station where he was later charged with failing to appear on summons and other traffic related matters.

The man was bailed to appear at the Werribee Magistrates’ Court in November.
