Harold Egbert Camping (July 19, 1921 – December 15, 2013) was an American Christian radio broadcaster, author and evangelist. Beginning in 1958, he served as president of Family Radio, a California-based radio station group that broadcasts to more than 150 markets in the United States. In October 2011, he retired from active broadcasting following a stroke, but still maintained a role at Family Radio until his death. Camping is notable for issuing multiple failed predictions of dates for the End Times, which temporarily gained him a global following and millions of dollars of donations.
Camping predicted that Jesus Christ would return to Earth on May 21, 2011, whereupon the saved would be taken up to heaven in the rapture, and that there would follow five months of fire, brimstone and plagues on Earth, with millions of people dying each day, culminating on October 21, 2011, with the final destruction of the world. He had previously predicted that Judgment Day would occur on or about September 6, 1994.
Camping is an elective outdoor recreational activity. Generally held, participants leave developed areas to spend time outdoors in more natural ones in pursuit of activities providing them enjoyment. To be regarded as "camping" a minimum of one night is spent outdoors, distinguishing it from day-tripping, picnicking, and other similarly short-term recreational activities. Camping can be enjoyed through all four seasons.
Camping may involve sheltering in the open air, a tent, caravan, motorhome, or primitive structure. Luxury may be an element, as in early 20th century African safaris, but including accommodations in fully equipped fixed structures such as high-end sporting camps under the banner of "camping" blurs the line.
Camping as a recreational activity became popular among elites in the early 20th century. With time, it grew more democratic, and varied. Modern participants frequent publicly owned natural resources such as national and state parks, wilderness areas, and commercial campgrounds. Camping is a key part of many youth organizations around the world, such as Scouting, which use it to teach both self-reliance and teamwork.
Harold may refer to:
In United States constitutional law, a public forum is a government-owned property that is open to public expression and assembly.
Forums are classified as public or nonpublic.
A public forum, also called an open forum, is open to all expression that is protected under the First Amendment. Streets, parks, and sidewalks are considered open to public discourse by tradition and are designated as traditional public forums. The government creates a designated public forum when it intentionally opens a nontraditional forum for public discourse. Limited public forums, such as municipal meeting rooms, are nonpublic forums that have been specifically designated by the government as open to certain groups or topics. Traditional public forums cannot be changed to nonpublic forums by governments.
The use of public forums generally cannot be restricted based on the content of the speech expressed by the user. Use can be restricted based on content, however, if the restriction passes a strict scrutiny test for a traditional and designated forum or the reasonableness test for a limited forum. Also, public forums can be restricted as to the time, place and manner of speech. In the 1972 case Grayned v. City of Rockford, the Supreme Court found that "The nature of a place, the pattern of its normal activities, dictate the kinds of regulations of time, place, and manner that are reasonable." In determining what is reasonable, the Court stated that "[the] crucial question is whether the manner of expression is basically incompatible with the normal activity of a particular place at a particular time." Thus, protesters have the right to march in support of a cause, but not on a public beach during the middle of the day with bullhorns.
World is a common name for the whole of human civilization, specifically human experience, history, or the human condition in general, worldwide, i.e. anywhere on Earth or pertaining to anywhere on Earth.
In a philosophical context it may refer to:
In a theological context, world usually refers to the material or the profane sphere, as opposed to the celestial, spiritual, transcendent or sacred. The "end of the world" refers to scenarios of the final end of human history, often in religious contexts.
World history is commonly understood as spanning the major geopolitical developments of about five millennia, from the first civilizations to the present.
World population is the sum of all human populations at any time; similarly, world economy is the sum of the economies of all societies (all countries), especially in the context of globalization. Terms like world championship, gross world product, world flags etc. also imply the sum or combination of all current-day sovereign states.

Plot: The 'Rapture', the end of the world, heaven, and Bono - this 20 minute mockumentary addresses each one of these topics, and more. Radio evangelist Harold Camping predicted Jesus would come down to earth and that the Rapture would begin on May 21st, 2011. We travel to the heart of Christian America, Colorado Springs, to capture the action on that fated day. Bono also came to Colorado on May 21st, 2011 - could there be a connection? We explore this burning question, as well. And if Jesus and Bono held an arm wrestling contest, who would win? Find out in 'Jesus vs. Bono', the greatest story never told.

INTERVIEW WITH HAROLD CAMPING- May 22, 2011- The Day After 'the Rapture' An interview with Harold Camping at his residence on May 22nd, 2011 regarding his reaction to the failed prophecy of the Rapture and subsequent 'end times'/end of the world to follow. Harold Egbert Camping (born July 19, 1921) is an American Christian radio broadcaster. He is president of Family Radio, a California-based radio station that spans more than 150 markets in the United States. Camping's trademarks include his deep, sonorous voice coupled with a slow cadence. He is notable for twice having used Bible-based numerology to predict dates for the Rapture, dates which passed without incident in each case. The most recent was his 2011 end times prediction; he calculated that the Rapture would occur on Ma...

California preacher Harold Camping has admitted that he got the date of the Rapture wrong when he predicted it would take place last Saturday and revised the date to October 21.
More Harold Camping News (hyperlink: http://www.ibtimes.com/coverage/2011/may-21st-doomsday) Family Radio president Harold Camping, who predicted that 200 million people will Rapture on May 21, 2011 and the rest will die in a series of natural disasters, including violent earthquakes, by October 31, 2011, refused to meet the media since Friday night (May 19) when it became clear that the world is not going to be destroyed. Camping met International Business Times (IBTimes) reporters on Sunday afternoon (May 22) at his Alameda Calif., home and said he needed a day to think things over. "Give me a day. No interview at all today. Sorry. You know this is a big deal and I've got to live with it and I've got to think it out. So no interviews," Camping told IBTimes reporters. Camping...
