ביום שבת, ה- 8.3.14, תיעד שאדי סידר, מתנדב בצלם בחברון, מתנחל שניסה לטפס אל גג ביתו של סידר ולהוריד ממנודגל פלסטין שהתנוסס עליו. המתנחל נתקע בגדר התיל שסביב הגג.תוך שהשניים מתדיינים, הסביר המתנחל לשאדי שגג הבית בעצם שייך לו משום שהוא חלק ממדינת ישראל. חייל שהגיע למקום דרש גם הוא משאדי להסיר את הדגל. החייל ניסה להצדיק את דרישתו להסיר את הדגל בטענה שאין באזור דגלים אחרים, זאת למרות שבצילום ניתן לראות בבירור דגלי ישראל בסביבה.
כעבור זמן קצר, הגיעו לבית חמישה חיילים נוספים ודרשו שוב משאדי סידר ומאחיו, עבד אדהם סידר, להסיר את הדגל, כשהם מאיימים לעצור את שאדי סידר אם יסרב. האירוע תועד על-ידי תחקירנית בצלם מנאל ג'עברי ועל-ידי מתנדב פרויקט המצלמות מחמוד אבו חייה.
בצלם מדגיש כי אסור לחיילים להפקיר את בטחונו של פלסטיני ולהותיר אותו להתגונן לבדו מפני מתנחל המנסה לחדור לביתו הפרטי. לא זו בלבד שהפלסטיני לא זכה להגנה, שעה קלה לאחר מכן הגיעו חיילים למקום ותבעו ממנו, תוך איום במעצר, להוריד את דגל פלסטין מגג ביתו הפרטי, זאת בשעה שדגלי ישראל רבים מתנופפים באזור באין מפריע. החיילים, כמי שמופקדים על הביטחון, מחויבים להגן בראש ובראשונה על הפלסטינים, שהם האוכלוסייה המוגנת בגדה. בוודאי שאסור להם להעניק סיוע למתנחלים הפולשים לבתיהם של הפלסטינים ולרצות גחמה של מתנחל שדגל פלסטין המונף בחברון צרם לעיניו.

The United Nations is going to put to vote a draft resolution on hoisting the Palestinian flag at the world body’s headquarters in New York.
The resolution has been circulated at the General Assembly and voting will take place later Thursday. Palestinian envoy to the UN, Riyad Mansour described raising the flag as another step towards solidifying the pillars of the state of Palestine in the international community. The US and Israel are strongly opposed to the move. If the resolution gets enough votes, the UN would have 20 days to implement the move.

The Palestinian flag (Arabic: علم فلسطين) is based on the Flag of the Arab Revolt, and is used to represent the Palestinian people (since 1964), and the Palestinian Authority.
The flag consists of three equal horizontal stripes (black, white, and green from top to bottom) overlaid by a red triangle issuing from the hoist. These are the Pan-Arab colors. The flag is almost identical to that of the Baath Party, and very similar to the flags of Jordan, and Western Sahara, all of which draw their inspiration from the Arab Revolt against Ottoman rule (1916–1918). Prior to being the flag of Palestine, it was the flag of the short lived Arab Federation of Iraq and Jordan. The flag of the Arab Revolt had the same graphic form, but the colours were arranged differently (white on the bottom, rather than in the middle).
The flag used by the Arab Palestinian nationalists in the first half of the 20th century is the flag of the 1916 Arab Revolt. The origins of the flag are the subject of dispute and mythology. In one version, the colours were chosen by the Arab nationalist 'Literary Club' in Constantinople in 1909, based on the words of the 13th century Arab poet Safi a-Din al-Hili:

The United Nations is going to put to vote a draft resolution on hoisting the Palestinian flag at the world body’s headquarters in New York. The resolution has been circulated at the General Assembly and voting will take place later Thursday. The United Nations is going to put to vote a draft resolution on hoisting the Palestinian flag at the world body’s headquarters in New York.
The resolution has been circulated at the General Assembly and voting will take place later Thursday. Palestinian envoy to the UN, Riyad Mansour described raising the flag as another step towards solidifying the pillars of the state of Palestine in the international community. The US and Israel are strongly opposed to the move. If the resolution gets enough votes, the UN would have 20 days to implement the move.

The United Nations is going to put to vote a draft resolution on hoisting the Palestinian flag at the world body’s headquarters in New York.
The resolution has been circulated at the General Assembly and voting will take place later Thursday.
