Jed D. Hoyer (born December 7, 1973), is the executive vice-president and general manager of the Chicago Cubs. He has been the general manager of the San Diego Padres and the assistant general manager of the Boston Red Sox. He joined the Red Sox in 2002, after the ownership of John W. Henry, Tom Werner, and Larry Lucchino took over the team from John Harrington. He worked under the title of assistant to the general manager until December 2005. He then was given the title of assistant general manager. Hoyer briefly served as co-general manager of the Red Sox from December 12, 2005 to January 19, 2006 and then returning to his previous job of assistant general manager. In November 2003, he accompanied general manager Theo Epstein to Arizona to persuade pitcher Curt Schilling to accept a trade to the Red Sox, spending Thanksgiving at Schilling's home in what was eventually a successful effort.
When Epstein left his position on October 31, 2005, Hoyer was part of a group of four executives, called the "Gang of Four", that kept the club running in Epstein's absence. Other members of the "gang" were Ben Cherington, Bill Lajoie, and Craig Shipley, a group which completed trades for, among others, Josh Beckett, Mike Lowell, Mark Loretta, and Andy Marte. Shortly after the winter meetings were completed in early December, Hoyer and Cherington were promoted to co-general managers, where they remained until Epstein returned to his original position on January 19, 2006 after a 10-week hiatus. Jed Hoyer has also been a key player in decision making regarding players and their contracts for the past several seasons. Beginning in 2008, Jed Hoyer became the first "Resident Expert" for the Fenway neighborhood on Povo.com, a local wiki whose platform lets you share your insider’s knowledge of Boston.

The World Series is the annual championship series of Major League Baseball (MLB) in North America, contested since 1903 between the American League (AL) champion team and the National League (NL) champion. Prior to 1969, the team with the best win-loss record in each league automatically advanced to the World Series; since then each league has conducted a championship series (ALCS and NLCS) preceding the World Series to determine which teams will advance. As of 2015, the World Series has been contested 111 times, with the AL winning 64 and the NL winning 47. The winner of the World Series championship is determined through a best-of-seven playoff and the winning team is awarded the Commissioner's Trophy. As the series is played in October (and occasionally November), during the autumn season in North America, it is often referred to as the Fall Classic.
The 2015 World Series took place between the New York Mets and the victorious Kansas City Royals. Five games were played, with the Royals victorious after game five, played in New York. The final score was 7-2; the game went into extra innings after a tied score of 2-2. This was the second World Series won by the franchise and the first in 30 years.
I got a feeling of deja vu
When I walked through that door
Don't mean to be too forward
But haven't we met before
You must be from Tennessee
Ain't no doubt it's true
Because the only ten I see
In this bar is you
I wanna be with you tonight
Is this love at first sight
Or should I walk by again
Well, girl I've looked forever
We should be together
Tell me where on earth you been
Contrary to the things you've heard
I am not a man of many words
I just need a few
Cause if I rewrote the alphabet
Then baby I would follow you
Your mama must have been an angel
I'll bet your daddy was a thief
Cause he stole as little piece of heaven
Girl, and it's sitting right next to me
Well I knew that you were it
From the moment that we met
Cause you look just like my first wife
And I ain't been married yet
I wanna be with you tonight
Is this love at first sight
Or should I walk by again
Girl, I've looked for you forever
We should be together
Tell me where on earth you been
Contrary to the things you've heard
I am not a man of many words
I just need a few
Cause if I rewrote the alphabet
Then baby I would follow you
Girl if I rewrote the alphabet
