5KPlayer is a free video audio player and streaming media server available for Microsoft Windows and macOS developed in January 2015 by DearMob, Inc.[1]
5KPlayer supports virous audio and video compression methods and file formats, including DVD-Video, video CD and streaming protocols, and supports high resolution up to 4K resolution. It also plays Internet radio and supports Apple's AirPlay technology[2] to stream video music over WiFi from iPhone/iPad/iPod to Mac/PC or Mac/PC to Apple TV.
The default distribution of 5KPlayer includes a large number of free decoding and encoding libraries, avoiding the need for finding proprietary plugins.
