How to ice a cake
Learn how to ice a cake like a professional with this easy technique.

Step 1:
After baking, set the cake aside to cool. Use a large serrated knife to remove the top of the cake to create a flat surface.
Step 2:
Turn the cake upside down and place on a serving platter. Use a clean, dry pastry brush to remove any crumbs from the platter.
Step 3:
Pour icing onto the centre of the cake. Use a pallet knife to spread the icing towards the edges, allowing it to run over the sides.
