Shibuya is Tokyo's glitziest area and Hachiko Scramble is the world's busiest crossing. No wonder it amazes visitors who come to Tokyo! It's often featured in movies that take place in Tokyo, such as Lost in Translation, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, and Resident Evil: Afterlife and Retribution, as well as news broadcasts around the world.
Most people spend only a few minutes here, but in this episode, we're going to take you through a 24 hour cycle. We'll go a little deeper into what goes on here.
There're some time lapse scenes mixed in so you can see it in motion from day to night.

This famous iconic japanese tourism area which surrounds Shibuya Station, one of Tokyo's busiest railway stations and the world’s busiest landmark intersection is known as one of the fashion centers of Japan a colorful popular nightlife area (filled with bars, clubs and izakaya, one of the most popular meeting points) for young crowd of people and awesome spectacle of giant television video screens led boards and huge neon signs. Crowd of People are pouring across the street from all directions and they all meet in the middle in a funny mess, bumping each other as they try to cross. Commuters commuting in rush hour in city center with people walking, pedestrians passing in a busy urban scene with visitors visiting, travelers traveling and cars traffic jam, vehicles congestion and more.

One of Tokyo’s most famous locations, Shibuya Crossing, a scramble crossing, is located just in front of Shibuya Station and a few step away from the Statue of Hachiko*.
Shibuya Crossing has been made famous not only by its atypical crossing but also by its giants TV Screens, many advertising signs and youth fashion stores.
Compared by many to New York’s Times Square, Shibuya Crossing has been seen in many foreign movies around the world and quickly became a number one tourist curiosity in Japan.
*Hachiko was an Akita dog that died in 1935. He is celebrated and remembered for his loyalty to his owner even after the owner died. For an additional 10 years, Hachiko continued his ritual of walking to Shibuya Station and waiting for his beloved owner to return.

Shibuya
Shibuya (渋谷区, Shibuya-ku) is a special ward in Tokyo, Japan.
As of 2008, it has an estimated population of 208,371 and a population density of 13,540 people per km². The total area is 15.11 km².
The name "Shibuya" is also used to refer to the shopping district which surrounds Shibuya Station, one of Tokyo's busiest railway stations. This area is known as one of the fashion centers of Japan, particularly for young people, and as a major nightlife area.
History
Shibuya was historically the site of a castle in which the Shibuya family resided from the 11th century through the Edo period. Following the opening of the Yamanote Line in 1885, Shibuya began to emerge as a railway terminal for southwestern Tokyo and eventually as a major commercial and entertainment center.
The village of Shibuya was incorporated in 1889 by the merger of the villages of Kami-Shibuya, Naka-Shibuya and Shimo-Shibuya within Minami-Toshima County (Toyotama County from 1896). The village covered the territory of modern-day Shibuya Station area as well as the Hiroo, Daikanyama, Aoyama and Ebisu areas. Shibuya became a town in 1909. The town of Shibuya merged with the neighboring towns of Sendagaya (which included the modern Sendagaya, Harajuku and Jingumae areas) and Yoyohata (which included the modern Yoyogi and Hatagaya areas) to form Shibuya Ward of Tokyo City in 1932. Tokyo City became Tokyo Metropolis in 1943, and the present-day special ward was established on March 15, 1947.

Tokyo
Tokyo (東京, Tōkyō, "Eastern Capital") (Japanese: [toːkjoː], English /ˈtoʊki.oʊ/), officially Tokyo Metropolis (東京都, Tōkyō-to), is one of the 47 prefectures of Japan, and is both the capital and largest city of Japan. The Greater Tokyo Area is the most populous metropolitan area in the world. It is the seat of the Emperor of Japan and the Japanese government. Tokyo is in the Kantō region on the southeastern side of the main island Honshu and includes the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. Formerly known as Edo, it has been the de facto seat of government since 1603 when Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu made the city his headquarters. It's often featured in movies that take place in Tokyo, such as Lost in Translation, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, and Resident Evil: Afterlife and Retribution, as well as news broadcasts around the world.
Most people spend only a few minutes here, but in this episode, we're going to take you through a 24 hour cycle. We'll go a little deeper into what goes on here.

DIY okonomiyaki & monjayaki, and strolling Shibuya & Harajuku’s Takeshita Street! Hope you guys enjoy this vlog :) The trip actually took place in last January, but I’ve been taking my sweet time editing it hehe. Plus, editing vlog literally gives me a headache from filtering all the shaky footage out lol. By the way, if you’re going to Harajuku, I recommend you to try that Okonomiyaki place. It’s SUPER YUMMY DABOMBDIGGITY. A whole lot nicer than okonomiyaki you can find here in Indonesia. The sauce is just heavenly. I pretty much drowned my okonomiyaki in it. The monjayaki is also worth a try, it’s a specialty dish from Tokyo/Kanto region. So now you are in Tokyo and you don't want to spend the day going from a place to another in a dark subway, right?
So here there is my recommendation, an awesome tour of 5 of the best places in Tokyo, all at a walking distance!
Obviously there are more than 5 things to do in Tokyo and each person has their own favorite places to visit. That being said, if you are a first timer in Japan, I recommend you spend half a day to do this tour. SERIOUSLY. Do this and you'll save a lot of time. Unless you want to see Sumo or the fish market, but if you are around my age, you will love this tour. You see the beautiful Japanese Meiji Shrine, see the crazy young Takeshitadori, the cool&hip; Harajuku Cat Street, get lost in Shibuya crossing, walk through the insane Center Street in Shibuya, and check out a really cool shop in Shibuya called LOFT for some shopping. Not to mention one of the best beers/ales in Tokyo and tons of shops on the way.

So now you are in Tokyo and you don't want to spend the day going from a place to another in a dark subway, right?
So here there is my recommendation, an awesome tour of 5 of the best places in Tokyo, all at a walking distance!

DIY okonomiyaki & monjayaki, and strolling Shibuya & Harajuku’s Takeshita Street!
Hope you guys enjoy this vlog :)
The trip actually took place in last January, but I’ve been taking my sweet time editing it hehe. Plus, editing vlog literally gives me a headache from filtering all the shaky footage out lol.
By the way, if you’re going to Harajuku, I recommend you to try that Okonomiyaki place. It’s SUPER YUMMY DABOMBDIGGITY. A whole lot nicer than okonomiyaki you can find here in Indonesia. The sauce is just heavenly. I pretty much drowned my okonomiyaki in it.
The monjayaki is also worth a try, it’s a specialty dish from Tokyo/Kanto region. It tastes kinda creamy from the mentaiko and cheese, and a bit chewy from the mochi, so definitely share it ‘cause it can a bit too “eneg” after a few spoonful. Quite yummy as well, though I prefer okonomiyaki.
