100 Pipers is a brand of "standard" blended Scotch whisky with smoked notes that is produced by Pernod Ricard. The company says it is the "seventh-largest blended Scotch worldwide", the "No. 2 standard whisky in Asia", and the "No. 1 standard whisky" in Thailand. In addition to Thailand, it is also distributed in India, Spain, and South America. 100 Pipers is a blend of between 25 and 30 source whiskies. Much of it comes from the Allt a'Bhainne distillery, which is also owned by Pernod Ricard and does not have its own bottling facilities. 100 Pipers is bottled in India and Scotland (and possibly elsewhere).
100 Pipers Blended Scotch Whisky was first produced by Chivas Brothers and sold to Seagram around 1949. The brand owes its name and Celtic imagery to the Scottish tradition of bagpipers leading soldiers into battle. The "100 Pipers" name in particular comes from the ballad of "The Hundred Pipers", which tells of the heroic Bonnie Prince Charlie's (1720–1788)1745 Jacobite uprising led by a troop of 100 bagpipers.
Year 100 (C) was a leap year starting on Wednesday (link will display the full calendar) of the Julian calendar. At the time, it was known as the Year of the Consulship of Traianus and Frontinus (or, less frequently, year 853 Ab urbe condita). The denomination 100 for this year has been used since the early medieval period, when the Anno Domini calendar era became the prevalent method in Europe for naming years.
Red Hot Chilli Pipers are an ensemble consisting of pipers, guitarists, keyboards and drummers formed in Scotland in 2002. They entered and won the BBC talent show When Will I Be Famous? Their name is a play on the American band the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
In 2004, the group appeared on the main stage at T in the Park with the headline band, the rock group The Darkness. They appeared on BBC Radio 1 on the Greg James show in July 2013 and The Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw in 2014.
The band currently has Steven Graham – a seven time world champion snare drummer. Three members graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
Since their formation the Red Hot Chilli Pipers have combined guitars, keyboards, drums and their bagpipes to create 'bagrock' sound. The Red Hot Chilli Pipers perform a fusion of traditional pipe tunes and contemporary pieces. Notable covers performed have included "We Will Rock You" by Queen, "Clocks" by Coldplay and "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple.

Pipers and Drummers from around New Zealand used their musical talents to benefit those in need after last Tuesday's earthquake in Christchurch. The concert, 100 Pipers, was an evening of pipe band music, showcasing the combined talents of six bands who are on the top of their game after months of preparation for the cancelled Championships. Special guests made an appearance and the concert had something for everyone as shown in this short clip. Crystal Clear Productions was proud to have been asked to film the event. A DVD of the full concert is now on sale at http://www.crystalclearproductions.co.nz/ and the proceeds will go to the Red Cross Earthquake Appeal Fund.

This month we learned The Hundred Pipers. Class is sponsored by Oregon Old Time Fiddlers' Assoc. to promote and perpetuate old time fiddle music and old time fiddling. Here’s what the site http://www.ibiblio.org/fiddlers had to say about the history of the tune: This song, which can be either a jig or a waltz, is of Scottish origin and has several other names: “Wi’ a Hundred Pipers,” the “Durham Reel,” and best of all “The Hair Fell Off My Coconut.” It was published in 1851 although it has been said to have been a Jacobite song and that the music was an old Scottish melody (the Jacobites were. . .). The Jacobite origins of the song as based on the tale of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s entry into Carlisle on the march south after his victory at Prestonpans, preceded into the city by the famed ...

Four walls
Two of us
My feet
And a window to the street
Paintings
Stare at me
They're not yours
There's your necklace on my arm
Cubicles and cotton reels
The hum of the machines
I will not be silenced
I will not be quiet
I will rage at, will rage at the dying of your light
I will not stop fighting
I am here beside you
I'll rage, I will rage at the dying of your light
Needles
In our arms
Medicine
And ink to slow the harm
Skin thin
Blue dressing gown
Sleeping rose
Your blood is still in me.
Miracles and chemicals
The hope of their pursuit
I will not be silenced
I will not be quiet
I'll rage at, will rage at the dying of your light
I will not stop fighting
I am here beside you
I'll rage, I will rage at the dying of your light
I will not be silenced
I will not be quiet
I'll rage, I will rage at the dying of your light
I will not stop fighting
I am here beside you
