The Men 1950 Drama, Marlon Brando, Teresa Wright, Everett Sloane
When Ken (Marlon Brando) is shot in battle, he loses the use of both his legs. In the hospital, he spends his time mired in self-pity, making little effort to respond to treatment. After much encouragement from his devoted fiancée, Ellen (Teresa Wright), he finally consents to let kindly Dr. Brock (Everett Sloane) help him and is determined to be able to stand up on his wedding day. However, he and Ellen begin to question whether they're truly ready to accept the burden of his disability.

Saverio Luparello is the manager of Sicilian baron Occipinti's estate. The cunning greedy man intentionally lets the land turn into a wasteland, hoping that his employer, discouraged by its low returns, will sell his earth to him for next to nothing. His plans are thwarted by a share cropper, Diego Costa, who farms his lot zealously and to good results. Luparello's three sons try to scare the Costas out of their farm but they are defended by Don Salvatore, the innkeeper and leader of the local Mafia. The Men (film)
The Men is a 1950 American drama film directed by Fred Zinnemann, written by Carl Foreman, and stars Marlon Brando, Teresa Wright, and Everett Sloane. It tells the story of a World War II lieutenant who is seriously injured in combat and the struggles he faces as he attempts to re-enter society. Despite a commercial failure, the film marked Brando’s feature film debut.
Synopsis
Ken is a young infantry lieutenant who leads his platoon through an embattled European town, and advances into an open square and a shot rings out. He is hit in the lower back and in an instant a robust young man is made paraplegic for the rest of his life. In the hospital, Ken is a sullen and resentful patient, and in feeling sorry for himself he finds no sympathy from his fellow paraplegics, including Norm, a bitter and caustic man, and Leo, a happy go lucky patient who smokes cigars and bets on horses. Ken's reluctance to respond to treatment begins to diminish through the persistence of his fiancée, Ellen, who refuses to give up, despite his wish that she do so. With the support too of Brock, a sympathetic doctor, Ken begins to tackle the program of adjustment. He decides to go through with the wedding, determined to take the vows standing up at the altar. The wedding night however is painful for him and he returns to the hospital. Later, he is involved in a drunk driving accident and is disciplined by his fellow patients. Eventually Ken comes to appreciate that he has responsibilities, especially to his wife, who is also faced with the problems of being married to a paraplegic, a course she has accepted with full knowledge and considerable courage.

The Fighting Men (1950) - Full Movie
Saverio Luparello is the manager of Sicilian baron Occipinti's estate. The cunning greedy man intentionally lets the land turn into a wasteland, hoping that his employer, discouraged by its low returns, will sell his earth to him for next to nothing. His plans are thwarted by a share cropper, Diego Costa, who farms his lot zealously and to good results. Luparello's three sons try to scare the Costas out of their farm but they are defended by Don Salvatore, the innkeeper and leader of the local Mafia. The next day, Andrea, the oldest son, indirectly causes the death of Diego and Wanda Costa. Don Salvatore has him eliminated and has Saro Costa, the honest share-farmers' ten-year-old son,sent to America. Fifteen years later, Saro, now a handsome well-built young man, is back... A semi-approved bootleg limited to 500 copies. Original covers were promo jackets of Patti Smith's Horses album pasted over with printed pieces of paper front and back. Probably recorded in 1978 and mostly at Pirate's Cove in Cleveland. "I Will Wait" was recorded at the Homestead Theater. No other details are remembered. Released on Tri-City Records in 1979. The label on Side 1 reads "X-Mas Concert At Interstate Mall." The label on Side 2 reads "Live At Club Wow." (For the record, there was no such place as Interstate Mall, or Club Wow, for that matter.)
