using FCM instead of GCM on the GAE side is very very ,not clear and easy.
bad i can't just build a message and send it in java like in GCM

I say: Denormalization is a tombstone to database integrity. Thus, using Firebase is not always a good idea.

Good understandable examples. Since the transition from SQL thinking to NoSql working carries potential intrinsic pain and also seems to be very time consuming to master these clips are a real help to benefit from the wonderful Firebase buffet.

It's a nice trick to know, but doesn't initializing an extra app component have a hit on performance? Making a custom Application class (which many devs do anyway) and calling Firebase.init(this) would have much less overhead, IMO.

Also not everyone likes magic.
