Setsuya ha parlato a margine dei lavori della XII conferenza mondiale dei geoparchi ad Ascea, nel Parco nazionale del Cilento.
Setsuya ha spiegato che fra i segnali di una possibile eruzione c'è il ''rigonfiamento del vulcano, con 'sbuffi' che preannunciano l'attività del magma'' e il monitoraggio satellitare, con Gps, che consente di intervenire tempestivamente ''ma non se l'eruzione avviene dopo poche ore'' e quindi il piano predisposto dalla Protezione civile che interessa i 18 Comuni abitati potrebbe non essere sufficiente. Ma se fra gli abitanti della zona c'è la consapevolezza del rischio perché vedono il vulcano, la stessa consapevolezza non c'è nel distretto dei Campi Flegrei, dove non c'è la forma conica del vulcano e la sua maggiore pericolosità è data dal fatto che non ha mai eruttato nello stesso punto.
Il vulcanologo giapponese ha aggiunto che ''non si puo' dire quando un vulcano è più pericoloso perché uno quiescente può essere più pericoloso di uno in attività'' e portando ad esempio il Giappone, ha spiegato che ''molti geoparchi sono vulcanici e molta gente vi vive e lavora ma con la consapevolezza e la conoscenza della pericolosità'', soprattutto perché ''c'è una educazione sin nelle scuole''

E' tra i vulcani piu' rischiosi e studiati al mondo,cio' e' dovuto al fatto che sulle sue pendici e nelle vicinanze vi abitano circa tre milioni di persone. Le conseguenze di una nuova eruzione sarebbero veramente devastanti. Situato nel versante orientale della provincia di Napoli,la sua altezza e di 1281 metri. Mount Vesuvius
Mount Vesuvius (/vᵻˈsuːviəs/; Italian: Monte Vesuvio [ˈmonte veˈzuːvjo], Latin: Mons Vesuvius [mõːs wɛˈsʊwɪ.ʊs]) is a stratovolcano in the Gulf of Naples, Italy, about 9 km (5.6 mi) east of Naples and a short distance from the shore. It is one of several volcanoes which form the Campanian volcanic arc. Vesuvius consists of a large cone partially encircled by the steep rim of a summit caldera caused by the collapse of an earlier and originally much higher structure.
Mount Vesuvius is best known for its eruption in AD 79 that led to the burying and destruction of the Roman cities of Pompeii, Herculaneum, and several other settlements. That eruption ejected a cloud of stones, ash, and fumes to a height of 33 km (20.5 mi), spewing molten rock and pulverized pumice at the rate of 1.5 million tons per second, ultimately releasing a hundred thousand times the thermal energy released by the Hiroshima bombing. An estimated 16,000 people died due to hydrothermal pyroclastic flows. The only surviving eyewitness account of the event consists of two letters by Pliny the Younger to the historian Tacitus.

A dirlo è il vulcanologo giapponese Nakada Setsuya, sottolineando che ''ci sono indicatori dell'imminenza di una eruzione e monitoraggi che possono dare l'allerta'' ma può capitare ''che l'eruzione avvenga nell'arco di ore e non ci sia tempo per l'evacuazione''. Setsuya ha parlato a margine dei lavori della XII conferenza mondiale dei geoparchi ad Ascea, nel Parco nazionale del Cilento.
Setsuya ha spiegato che fra i segnali di una possibile eruzione c'è il ''rigonfiamento del vulcano, con 'sbuffi' che preannunciano l'attività del magma'' e il monitoraggio satellitare, con Gps, che consente di intervenire tempestivamente ''ma non se l'eruzione avviene dopo poche ore'' e quindi il piano predisposto dalla Protezione civile che interessa i 18 Comuni abitati potrebbe non essere sufficiente. Ma se fra gli abitanti della zona c'è la consapevolezza del rischio perché vedono il vulcano, la stessa consapevolezza non c'è nel distretto dei Campi Flegrei, dove non c'è la forma conica del vulcano e la sua maggiore pericolosità è data dal fatto che non ha mai eruttato nello stesso punto.
Il vulcanologo giapponese ha aggiunto che ''non si puo' dire quando un vulcano è più pericoloso perché uno quiescente può essere più pericoloso di uno in attività'' e portando ad esempio il Giappone, ha spiegato che ''molti geoparchi sono vulcanici e molta gente vi vive e lavora ma con la consapevolezza e la conoscenza della pericolosità'', soprattutto perché ''c'è una educazione sin nelle scuole''

E' tra i vulcani piu' rischiosi e studiati al mondo,cio' e' dovuto al fatto che sulle sue pendici e nelle vicinanze vi abitano circa tre milioni di persone. Le conseguenze di una nuova eruzione sarebbero veramente devastanti. Situato nel versante orientale della provincia di Napoli,la sua altezza e di 1281 metri. Sorge all'interno di una grande conca caldaia di 4 chilometri di diametro.La conca rappresenta cio' che e' rimasto dell'ex edificio vulcanico del Monte Somma.Pompei e un citta famosa in tutto il mondo. Pompeii + Mount Vesuvius Day Trip
Took a day trip from Rome to Pompeii and back via a company I booked through Viator.com The tour pickup was 7:30am at Piaza de Popolo, very easy to find the tour operators. Our guide was Stephanie, she was amazing. We had a local guide for the Pompeii site. The total cost was about $155, included lunch at a nice restaurant and an AC minibus. Our group was about 16 people. If you can make the journey there including the hike up Mount Vesuvius. It was a 13 hour day but well worth it.

Pompeii - tour of the town destroyed by Mount Vesuvius in 79AD and remained lost until the mod 1700s when it was rediscovered by accident. It is now excavated and you can tour the ruins and see models of some of the people trapped by the ash. Mount Vesuvius is around 10KM away and the eruption was so strong it blasted ash that far onto the town. I take you on an overview of this amazing town and the ruins in this video.

Porta Capuano is Europe’s largest ancient town and is located in Naples, a southern Italian city situated within a bay near to Mount Vesuvius. The Via Dei Tribunali is one of three main streets that originated in antiquity and gave structure to the town. Around fourteen hundred sacred Gothic buildings originated along this important lifeline of the city, the Duomo Di San Gennaro being one of the most famous. The Spaccanapoli is one of the city’s three Greek-Roman streets. A small side street, the Via Gregorio Armeno is known as "the alley of the Christmas cribs", a unique collection of small shops in which the famous crib makers of Naples have their workshops. Amid the tangled alleys is hidden the San Lorenzo Maggiore Church with an inner courtyard and cloister. The largest monastery in Naples is thought to have been the setting in which Boccaccio met his Fammetta and also where the city officials met. The archaeological complex of the church colourfully features the city’s history, an ancient commercial Roman street above which the monastery complex was built. The historic centre of the old town of Naples indicates its transformation by history and where modernisation and decay lie closely side by side and create an architectural image of bygone centuries.
