Where we work
The Coalition works on eleven initiatives that were identified as priority areas by partners, and scientifically have the greatest potential for fast action to reduce climate change impacts. These partner-led initiatives provide strategic guidance in both specific and cross cutting sectors.
The CCAC's work is underpinned by strong scientific evidence. Our Scientific Advisory Panel is made up of some of the leading scientists in their fields. What we know is that reductions in SLCP emissions results in significant benefits across sectors.
Short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) have a relatively short lifetime in the atmosphere - a few days to a few decades but in that time they can have a big impact on the climate, health, agriculture and ecosystems. The main SLCPs are black carbon, methane, tropospheric ozone, and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).
Our online database contains a wealth of information on SLCPs, science and research, and materials. Search for scientific, technical and policy reports, outreach tools, statements, education and training materials and other documents, reports and papers.
