The Student Welfare Team can talk through your options and help arrange what is best for you. Students who wish to arrange accommodation through the College are advised to book as early as possible. There are two main options for accommodation in the Portsmouth area. Highbury's on-site accommodation is situated within the top five floors of the College's tallest building -- the Tower. From each of the 75 rooms you can enjoy panoramic views of the city and its coastline. Rooms are fully furnished and have en- suite facilities. In addition, each room has TV and computer connection points and free Internet access. Each floor has a lounge, television, dining area and two communal kitchens. The accommodation also has 24-hour security. Some international students choose to live off Campus in the centre of Portsmouth, close to the city's restaurants, theatres and galleries. If you choose to do this, you can stay with a host family. Living with a host family is a good way of getting used to a new country and its language and customs. You will also have the security of knowing that you are being well looked after. You will have your own room and the host family will cater for your breakfast and evening meals seven days a week. Accommodation costs vary. The current cost of a student room in The Tower is £75 per week and is inclusive of water, electricity, and Internet access. The cost of living with a host family is £65-£90 for self-catering and £85-£95 for half-board. All Highbury College host families are within a 20 minute bus ride of the College.
