The following is a list of political parties whose names (in English) could be translated to Democratic Party or the Democrats.
Montana Democratic Party (MDP) is the affiliate of the Democratic Party in the state of Montana. The Montana Democratic Party is also one of the two major political parties in the U.S. state of Montana. The party is led by Chairman Jim Elliott (Trout Creek) and Vice Chair Nancy Anderson (Great Falls). The National Committeeman is Jorge Quintana (Helena) and the National Committeewoman is Jean Lemire Dahlman (Forsyth)
Controversy arose late in the 2008 elections as the Billings Gazette reported Montana Democrats as breaking campaign disclosure laws. A report came out identifying Democrats as calling voters anonymously to attack the republican candidate Jack Sands.
The 2012 elections were identified by prominent members of the Party as being one of the most important elections in the Party's existence. The Party wished to re-elect Montana's U.S. Senator in Jon Tester. In addition to re-electing Jon Tester, the Party hoped to retain a number of other offices. Jon Tester believed it would not be hard to get Democrats of the State to the polling booths in early November 2012. The Senator believes the results of the 2010 elections should be enough for Democrats to come out in large numbers this time around. During the election, Jon Tester was elected over his Republican challenger, and the victory by Steve Bullock meant that Democrats retained the office of governor after Brian Schweitzer was prevented from running again due to term limits.
Montana i/mɒnˈtænə/ is a state in the Western region of the United States. The state's name is derived from the Spanish word montaña (mountain). Montana has several nicknames, although none official, including "Big Sky Country" and "The Treasure State", and slogans that include "Land of the Shining Mountains" and more recently "The Last Best Place". Montana is ranked 4th in size, but 44th in population and 48th in population density of the 50 United States. The western third of Montana contains numerous mountain ranges. Smaller island ranges are found throughout the state. In total, 77 named ranges are part of the Rocky Mountains.
The economy is primarily based on agriculture, including ranching and cereal grain farming. Other significant economic activities include oil, gas, coal and hard rock mining, lumber, and the fastest-growing sector, tourism. The health care, service, and government sectors also are significant to the state's economy. Millions of tourists annually visit Glacier National Park, the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument, and Yellowstone National Park.
Bernard "Bernie" Sanders (born September 8, 1941) is an American politician and the junior United States Senator from Vermont. He is a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. A Democrat as of 2015, Sanders had been the longest-serving independent in U.S. congressional history, though his caucusing with the Democrats entitled him to committee assignments and at times gave Democrats a majority. Sanders has been the ranking minority member on the Senate Budget Committee since January 2015, and previously served for two years as chair of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee.
Sanders was born and raised in the New York City borough of Brooklyn and graduated from the University of Chicago in 1964. While a student, he was an active civil rights protest organizer for the Congress of Racial Equality and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. After settling in Vermont in 1968, Sanders ran unsuccessful third-party campaigns for governor and U.S. senator in the early to mid-1970s. As an independent, he was elected mayor of Burlington, Vermont's most populous city, in 1981, and was reelected three times. In 1990, he was elected to represent Vermont's at-large congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. In 1991, Sanders co-founded the Congressional Progressive Caucus. He served as a congressman for 16 years before being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2006. In 2012, he was reelected with 71% of the popular vote. During the 2016 presidential primaries, Sanders became the first self-described democratic socialist and first Jewish American to win a presidential primary of a major party, namely the New Hampshire primary.

The Democratic presidential race may effectively over, but Vermont senator Bernie Sanders picked up another superdelegate over the weekend. The Sanders campaign and Montana Democratic Party confirmed on Monday that Jean Lemire Dahlman, a Montana Democratic National Committeewoman, plans to support Sanders as a superdelegate at the Democratic National Convention this summer in Philadelphia. During an interview on Meet the Press on Sunday, Sanders said, "What we have got to determine between now and the Democratic convention, and by the way Chuck, we're going to have well over 1,900 delegates at that convention, is what kind of platform and what kind of agenda there will be if Secretary Clinton gets elected, if she wins the election." http://www.politico.com/blogs/2016-dem-primary-live-updat...

"Resurgent Republicans captured Democratic seats in Arkansas and West Virginia and bid for control of the U.S. Senate and a tighter grip on the House Tuesday in elections shaped by deep voter discontent with President Barack Obama. The party's leader, Sen. Mitch McConnell, dispatched Democratic challenger Alison Lundergan Grimes in Kentucky after a $78 million campaign of unrelieved negativity. Two-term Sen. Mark Pryor of Arkansas was the first Democratic incumbent to fall, defeated by freshman Rep. Tom Cotton. Rep. Shelley Moore Capito was the GOP winner for a Senate seat in West Virginia, the first of her party to make that claim since 1956. Republicans also reached out for relatively easy pickings among Senate seats held by Democrats in South Dakota and Montana.""* Cenk Uygur, Ana Ka...

Originally posted May 6 2016 - The democratic primary between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton is still ongoing but you would never know that by watching the corporate media's coverage as of late. Their focus appears to be trying to guilt Sanders into allowing Clinton to waltz right into the general election despite the fact that not everyone has voted yet. To those remaining Democrats and Independents in California, Oregon, New Jersey, Washington D.C., West Virginia, Kentucky, Montana, New Mexico, North and South Dakota, Democratic party loyalists and the corporate media are basically saying 'F-ck your vote'. - http://www.whisperwatch.com/podcast/73-dem-party-media-fyourvote05062016.html Podcasts are always posted to the website (iTunes and Stitcher Radio), sometimes weeks, before y...
During the lead-up to Montana second progressive era, Lee Metcalf and Forrest Anderson, along with others, kept the progressive flame lit in Montana. Metcalf’s political history is replete with close electoral wins because of his commitment to progressive ideals when the times were not always politically favorable for that. As State Legislator, MT Supreme Court Justice, Congressman and eventually as US Senator, Lee won races by as little as 55 votes because he stuck to his guns as a progressive. In Forrest Anderson’s career as a County Attorney, State Legislator, MT Supreme Court Justice and 12 years as MT Attorney General he was respected as a pragmatic practitioner of politics. But during that entire career leading up to his election as Governor, Forrest Anderson was also a stalwart...
