Laura Wright

Laura Wright (born Laura Sisk; September 11, 1970) is an American actress. She is perhaps best known for her role as Cassie Layne Winslow on Guiding Light (1997–2005), and since 2005, her portrayal of Carly Corinthos on General Hospital; the latter garnered her the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2011.

Life and career

Wright was born Laura Sisk in Washington D.C., and was raised in Clinton, Maryland. She appeared in several high school plays such as Gypsy, Our Town, and You Can't Take It with You. She made her debut of ABC's daytime soap opera Loving in 1991 as Ally Rescott Bowman. She also starred in The City from 1995 to 1997, and played Cassie Layne Winslow on CBS soap opera Guiding Light from 1997 to 2005.

On September 12, 2005, Wright was cast as the fourth actress to play the character of Carly Corinthos on ABC's General Hospital.ABC Daytime executive Brian Frons stated in a statement, "Carly is a complex character, and we are excited to bring Laura's talent, beauty and intelligence to this role. [...] Fans can look forward to high drama between Sonny, Carly and Alcazar this fall." In a statement, Wright, who was still appearing in episodes of Guiding Light when the announcent was made, said:

General Hospital

General Hospital (commonly abbreviated GH) is an American daytime television medical drama that is listed in Guinness World Records as the longest-running American soap opera in production and the third longest-running drama in television in American history after Guiding Light and As the World Turns. Concurrently, it is the world's third longest-running scripted drama series in production after British serials The Archers and Coronation Street, as well as the world's second-longest-running televised soap opera still in production. General Hospital premiered on the ABC television network on April 1, 1963. Same-day broadcasts as well as classic episodes were aired on SOAPnet from January 20, 2000 to December 31, 2013, following Disney-ABC's decision to discontinue the network. General Hospital is the longest-running serial produced in Hollywood, and the longest-running entertainment program in ABC television history. It holds the record for most Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series, with 11 wins.

Maurice Benard

Maurice Benard (born March 1, 1963) is an American actor. He is known primarily for his portrayal of romantic mobster Michael "Sonny" Corinthos, Jr. on the ABC soap opera, General Hospital, a role he has portrayed since 1993.

Life and career

Benard was born Mauricio Jose Morales in Martinez, California, the son of Martha, a bank employee, and Humberto Morales, a bakery superintendent. He grew up in San Francisco, California, and is of Salvadorian and Nicaraguan ethnicity. He started his acting career as Nico on the soap opera All My Children, from 1987 to 1990. In addition to guest spots on several television series during the early 1990s, Benard appeared in television movies including the CBS television movie Lucy & Desi: Before the Laughter (1991), in which he portrayed Desi Arnaz. He also starred in the independent film entitled The Ghost and the Whale, executive produced by his wife Paula.

Personal life

Benard married Paula Smith on August 11, 1990. They have four children: Heather Ann (adopted April 20, 2008), Cailey Sofia (born September 18, 1994), Cassidy Rose (born April 18, 1999), and Joshua James (born December 5, 2004). He and his wife adopted his wife's adopted sister, after her mother's death. His cousin, Marvin Benard, played professional baseball.

Steve Burton (actor)

Jack Stephen "Steve" Burton (born June 28, 1970) is an American actor best known for his portrayal of Jason Morgan on General Hospital from 1991 to 2000, briefly in 2001, and from 2002 to 2012. He also voiced the character of Cloud Strife in a wide range of Square Enix products, including Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and the Kingdom Hearts series. He currently plays the role of Dylan McAvoy on the CBS soap opera, The Young and the Restless.

Career

Burton got his break as surfer boy Chris Fuller on Out of This World in 1987 and in the 1990s he studied acting at Theater Theater in Hollywood, California, coached by Chris Aable who introduced him to fellow actors Gedde Watanabe and Jon Cedar. He won a Daytime Emmy as best supporting actor in 1998 for his portrayal of Jason Morgan. In 2007, Burton became an original cast member of General Hospital: Night Shift, while keeping his day job on General Hospital. Previously, he appeared on Days of Our Lives in 1988 as Harris Michaels, a love interest to Eve Donovan, played by Charlotte Ross. In January 2013, he joined the cast of The Young and the Restless playing Dylan McAvoy.

Rebecca Herbst

Rebecca Ann Liberty Herbst (born May 12, 1977) is an American actress, known for playing nurse Elizabeth Webber on the ABC Daytime drama General Hospital, a role she originated on August 1, 1997, and Suzee, an alien, on the Nickelodeon show, Space Cases.

Early life

Herbst was born in Encino, California. She grew up with parents Debbie and Wayne, and has an older sister, Jennifer. She is not related to General Hospital co-star Rick Hearst (who portrays Ric Lansing, Elizabeth Webber's ex-husband), whose surname was Herbst before he changed it professionally. Herbst was a competitive figure skater as a child, and at age sixteen decided to concentrate on acting.

Career

At age six, Herbst stated she wanted to be on television so that she could play with the toys; she began filming commercials and has since appeared in over 60 nationally. She has guest-starred in television series including: Highway to Heaven, L.A. Law, Beverly Hills, 90210, Step By Step, Boy Meets World, Sister, Sister, Days of Our Lives and Brotherly Love. She starred in films including Kaleidoscope, Why Me? and Hefner: Unauthorized. She was also featured in the Goo Goo Dolls 1995 music video "Naked". She was a series regular as Suzee on the second season of the Nickelodeon show, Space Cases from 1996–97.
