President Omar al-Bashir of Sudan, who has been indicted by the International Criminal Court on counts of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity, says he will step down in 2020, when his current mandate ends.
In an exclusive interview with the BBC, Mr Bashir has denied allegations of abuses perpetrated by the Sudanese forces in renewed violence in Darfur this year. Mr Bashir spoke to the BBC's Thomas Fessy, who began by asking him to respond to the allegations.

STORYLINE:
African leaders continued to arrive in Beijing on Thursday ahead of a landmark summit highlighting China's growing role in Africa.
Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed arrived at Beijing's international airport, and later Angolan Prime Minister Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos Nano was greeted by the Chinese Minister of Health.
Meanwhile, Chinese President Hu Jintao met his Sudanese counterpart Omar al-Bashir in Beijing.
The presidents were expected to discuss the conflict in Darfur, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
Sudan's western province of Darfur has suffered from a three-year-old war that has left 200,000 people dead and 2.5 (m) million displaced, and the government of al Bashir has been accused of unleashing brutal militiamen known as Janjaweed to quell a tribal rebellion against the government.
Sudan is also a growing supplier of oil to China.
Critics have said China's arms exports to Darfur have helped fuel the conflict.
Beijing has defended its expanding relations with Sudan as "mutually beneficial," and that its dealing with the African nation have helped to improve that country's human rights records.
Beijing is welcoming leaders from 48 African nations for the historic summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), scheduled for November 3-5, which will be the highest-level and the largest meeting between Chinese and African leaders since China and African countries started to forge cooperative ties in the 1950s.

STORYLINE
China has rolled out the red carpet for a state visit by Sudan's president, wanted on an international warrant that accuses him of war crimes.
President Omar al-Bashir was visiting China, a major trading partner and investor in his country, just days before southern Sudan becomes independent, and with the warrant from the International Criminal Court hanging over his head.
Al-Bashir was greeted on Wednesday by President Hu Jintao at the Great Hall of the People in central Beijing and given an honour guard reception.
Al-Bashir's talks with Hu are expected to focus on promoting peace in the African nation ahead of south Sudan's independence July 9.
Sudan's president arrived in Beijing on Tuesday, a day after his plane was forced to turn back over Turkmenistan because of flight itinerary problems.
China is a major economic partner for Sudan, and Beijing extended the invitation to al-Bashir despite the international warrant.
On Tuesday the two countries signed contracts of economic cooperation in Beijing.
Al-Bashir is wanted by the International Criminal Court for allegedly orchestrating atrocities in Sudan's Darfur region on the first such warrant against a sitting head of state.
The Netherlands-based court has no police force and relies on member states to execute its orders and warrants.
China is not a member.
The Sudanese leader rejects the charges, and China, which has major oil investments in Sudan, has expressed concerns the indictment of al-Bashir could further destabilise the region.
China is uniquely positioned to exert influence over the conflict between north and south Sudan, given its efforts to maintain friendly ties with the southern region to protect Chinese oil investments while remaining a key political ally of Sudan's government in the north.
Al-Bashir has travelled without arrest to several other nations, including ICC treaty signatories Chad and Kenya.
South Sudan's declaration of independence next month will be the culmination of a 2005 peace deal that ended more than two decades of civil war that killed more than 2 (m) million people.

As the drama unfolded in Juba, President Salva Kiir was meeting his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni at the State House in Entebbe. According to a statement from the Ugandan presidency talks between the two leaders focused on regional issues with an emphasis on how to ensure peace and stability returns to South Sudan. No details were however provided on the specific proposals or measures discussed. Uganda is part of the regional body IGAD which brokered the peace deal between Kiir and Machar. IGAD also originated the African Union backed proposal for the deployment of a regional force to act as a buffer between Kiir's and Machar's forces in Juba. Museveni deployed his troops in support of Salva Kiir when the conflict initially broke out, late 2013. The troops were however withdrawn as part of the requirements of the peace deal signed in August last year.

The reasons why the plane had been redirected were not fully explained, but apparently there was confusion over the flight plan .
Sudan's Foreign Ministry said in a statement carried by the official Sudan News Agency that al-Bashir's plane had been instructed to change its route while flying over Turkmenistan but was unable to do so, and instead returned to Tehran.
The website of the France-based Sudan Tribune cited unnamed sources as saying the presidential plane's flight path was abandoned after it was "deemed risky" but didn't elaborate.
Chinese Foreign Ministry official Guan Enxia said al-Bashir's meetings with Hu and other Chinese leaders had been pushed to Wednesday.
Al-Bashir is wanted by the International Criminal Court for allegedly orchestrating atrocities in Sudan's Darfur region on the first such warrant against a sitting head of state.

Ugandan President meets South Sudanese President Kiir for peace talks
As the drama unfolded in Juba, President Salva Kiir was meeting his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni at the State House in Entebbe. According to a statement from the Ugandan presidency talks between the two leaders focused on regional issues with an emphasis on how to ensure peace and stability returns to South Sudan. No details were however provided on the specific proposals or measures discussed. Uganda is part of the regional body IGAD which brokered the peace deal between Kiir and Machar. African leaders continued to arrive in Beijing on Thursday ahead of a landmark summit highlighting China's growing role in Africa.
Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed arrived at Beijing's international airport, and later Angolan Prime Minister Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos Nano was greeted by the Chinese Minister of Health.
Meanwhile, Chinese President Hu Jintao met his Sudanese counterpart Omar al-Bashir in Beijing.
The presidents were expected to discuss the conflict in Darfur, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
Sudan's western province of Darfur has suffered from a three-year-old war that has left 200,000 people dead and 2.5 (m) million displaced, and the government of al Bashir has been accused of unleashing brutal militiamen known as Janjaweed to quell a tribal rebellion against the government.
Sudan is also a growing supplier of oil to China.
Critics have said China's arms exports to Darfur have helped fuel the conflict.
Beijing has defended its expanding relations with Sudan as "mutually beneficial," and that its dealing with the African nation have helped to improve that country's human rights records.
Beijing is welcoming leaders from 48 African nations for the historic summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), scheduled for November 3-5, which will be the highest-level and the largest meeting between Chinese and African leaders since China and African countries started to forge cooperative ties in the 1950s.

China has rolled out the red carpet for a state visit by Sudan's president, wanted on an international warrant that accuses him of war crimes.
President Omar al-Bashir was visiting China, a major trading partner and investor in his country, just days before southern Sudan becomes independent, and with the warrant from the International Criminal Court hanging over his head.
Al-Bashir was greeted on Wednesday by President Hu Jintao at the Great Hall of the People in central Beijing and given an honour guard reception.
Al-Bashir's talks with Hu are expected to focus on promoting peace in the African nation ahead of south Sudan's independence July 9.
Sudan's president arrived in Beijing on Tuesday, a day after his plane was forced to turn back over Turkmenistan because of flight itinerary problems.
China is a major economic partner for Sudan, and Beijing extended the invitation to al-Bashir despite the international warrant.
On Tuesday the two countries signed contracts of economic cooperation in Beijing.
Al-Bashir is wanted by the International Criminal Court for allegedly orchestrating atrocities in Sudan's Darfur region on the first such warrant against a sitting head of state.
The Netherlands-based court has no police force and relies on member states to execute its orders and warrants.
China is not a member.
The Sudanese leader rejects the charges, and China, which has major oil investments in Sudan, has expressed concerns the indictment of al-Bashir could further destabilise the region.
China is uniquely positioned to exert influence over the conflict between north and south Sudan, given its efforts to maintain friendly ties with the southern region to protect Chinese oil investments while remaining a key political ally of Sudan's government in the north.
Al-Bashir has travelled without arrest to several other nations, including ICC treaty signatories Chad and Kenya.
South Sudan's declaration of independence next month will be the culmination of a 2005 peace deal that ended more than two decades of civil war that killed more than 2 (m) million people.

As the drama unfolded in Juba, President Salva Kiir was meeting his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni at the State House in Entebbe. According to a statement from the Ugandan presidency talks between the two leaders focused on regional issues with an emphasis on how to ensure peace and stability returns to South Sudan. No details were however provided on the specific proposals or measures discussed. Uganda is part of the regional body IGAD which brokered the peace deal between Kiir and Machar. IGAD also originated the African Union backed proposal for the deployment of a regional force to act as a buffer between Kiir's and Machar's forces in Juba. Sudan's president arrived in Beijing for talks with Chinese officials on Tuesday, a day after his plane was forced to turn back over Turkmenistan because of flight itinerary problems.
China is a major economic partner for Sudan, and Beijing extended the invitation to President Omar al-Bashir despite an international warrant accusing him of war crimes.
Sudan's Foreign Ministry said al-Bashir's flight from the Iranian capital Tehran was delayed.
The delay forced the rescheduling of a meeting with Chinese President Hu Jintao.
The reasons why the plane had been redirected were not fully explained, but apparently there was confusion over the flight plan .
Sudan's Foreign Ministry said in a statement carried by the official Sudan News Agency that al-Bashir's plane had been instructed to change its route while flying over Turkmenistan but was unable to do so, and instead returned to Tehran.
The website of the France-based Sudan Tribune cited unnamed sources as saying the presidential plane's flight path was abandoned after it was "deemed risky" but didn't elaborate.
Chinese Foreign Ministry official Guan Enxia said al-Bashir's meetings with Hu and other Chinese leaders had been pushed to Wednesday.
Al-Bashir is wanted by the International Criminal Court for allegedly orchestrating atrocities in Sudan's Darfur region on the first such warrant against a sitting head of state.
The Netherlands-based court has no police force and relies on member states to execute its orders and warrants.
China is not a member.
The Sudanese leader rejects the charges, and China, which has major oil investments in Sudan, has expressed concerns the indictment of al-Bashir could further destabilise the region.

Looking through some tapes, I came across this Dateline NBC show on an inestigation on the Sudanese "chemical factory" bombings by former US President Bill Clinton. I watched it today and the clues to the BS of the war on terror are here. YOU must watch and pay attention and then ask yourself a lot of questions. Also take note that they wondered if the US would have to be concerned about terrorism. You know what happen a few years later! How the media is able to predict things with the accuracy of a prophet is beyond me. Also take note of the Pakistan connection. I am sure that with ALL of the terror issues, Pakistan ALWAYS comes up, but yet there is no war with them. That is curious. The US goes to war with countries who are not involved, but leave thoese who ARE involved alone. Mmmm.......

I watched it today and the clues to the BS of the war on terror are here. YOU must watch and pay attention and then ask yourself a lot of questions.
Also take note that they wondered if the US would have to be concerned about terrorism. You know what happen a few years later! How the media is able to predict things with the accuracy of a prophet is beyond me. Also take note of the Pakistan connection. I am sure that with ALL of the terror issues, Pakistan ALWAYS comes up, but yet there is no war with them. That is curious. The US goes to war with countries who are not involved, but leave thoese who ARE involved alone. Mmmm....
After this Times Square BS (it IS BS), that is just a "reminder" to us that terroism is not gone and we should be prepared for the big one that will have to lead us into war with Iran. Do you really think that after all that the US did (9-11 and other terror events) to surround Iran for Israel that they are just going to leave? They WILL attack iran, it is just a matter or when and what excuse they need. They already tried the "social unrust" tactic, but Iran did not fall for it. They keep talking about the nuclear issue, but so far it is not enough to justify war to the rest of the world.
Just be on the look out and remember - if it does not make sense, it does not make sense! Also remember that something has to happen in order for the US to go to war with Iran, so keep that in mind also. These are the same dirty tricks since the CIA was founded and it does not matter who the presidents were/are, they are all on the same team - except the one who was shot in Dallas!
