Thrive Records is a United States based independent electronic record label. It also operates as a part of ThriveDance label. In 1998, the record label was already growing into a huge success after the release of the soundtrack to Darren Arononfsky's award winning independent film Pi, and the DJ Mix Series Global Underground. Thrive has also released soundtracks for films such as Memento, Requiem for a Dream, Swordfish, Irreversible, and many more. Thrive has also dabbled in alternative music, after signing Foo Fighter's drummer, Taylor Hawkins and his solo band, The Coattail Riders.
Thrive Records was founded in 1997 by Electronic music trailblazer Ricardo Vinas, as a joint venture with Sire/Warner Bros. Records—the label founded by legendary A&R man Seymour Stein. – Vinas credits Stein as the most influential mentor in his career, having worked closely with the revered record executive responsible for discovering Madonna, The Ramones, and Talking Heads, during the first four years of Thrive.
