Jobstown (/ˈdʒoʊbz.taʊn/; Irish: Ráth Miontáin) is a suburb of Tallaght in Ireland.
Jobstown was once a small rural farming community three kilometres from Tallaght village, close to the western foothills of the Dublin Mountains. The only landmark in the area was the public house called the Jobstown House. The censuses of 1901 and 1911 showed that the population was low, and consisted mostly of farmers. Today, it is a recently developed, densely populated suburb.
Jobstown is a townland surrounded by the adjacent townlands of Brookfield, Corbally, Gibbons, Johnville, Killinarden, Kiltalown, Mount Seskin, and Whitestown. It lies 14 kilometres from the centre of Dublin and can be reached from the city by Dublin Bus route 27. It is a 15-minute walk from Jobstown to the Luas tram service from Tallaght Hospital or The Square Shopping Centre into Dublin.
Because of social problems attendant on the birth of a new community, the Government has initiated a number of community-based projects to counteract a bad youth culture which developed when the large local authority housing stock was built without a supporting social structure. These initiatives are beginning to bear fruit, aided by the enthusiasm of the community. The first school to open in Jobstown was St. Thomas National School in April 1982. It is a DEIS Band 1 school and was successful in having radical government cuts reversed in Spring 2012, as part of the Save Our Schools campaign.

A 14 year old boy was shot in the face while buying something in a shop in the Jobstown area of Tallaght last night. Speculation is that a pellet gun had been used, however the owner of the Bawnlea shop found a bullet on top of a box of Wheetabix. The boy who was hit in the face and jaw was taken to hospital where he was treated for two wounds. His injuries are said not to be life threatening. It is thought that a motorbike carrying two people pulled up an fired several shots at a group of youths standing outside the shops. Gardaí rushed to the scene but no arrests were made. Tallaght Gardaí continue to investigate the incedent. Publican John Kilbride was one of over 20 concerned Jobstown community members that came together to attend a suicide prevention training programme, safeTALK, in March 2018. In response to a huge surge in suspected suicides prior to March 2018, this video, produced by a network of safeTALK trainers and advocates in Jobstown, outlines how beneficial the training was to John and the knock-on effect it has had, with staff in many pubs across Tallaght now trained and safe to talk to.
