Utica (pronounced i/ˈjuːtᵻkə/) is a city in the Mohawk Valley and the county seat of Oneida County, New York, United States. The tenth-most-populous city in New York, its population was 62,235 in the 2010 U.S. census. Located on the Mohawk River at the foot of the Adirondack Mountains, Utica is approximately 90 miles (145 km) northwest of Albany and 45 miles (72 km) east of Syracuse. Although Utica and the neighboring city of Rome have their own metropolitan area, both cities are also represented and influenced by the commercial, educational and cultural characteristics of the Capital District and Syracuse metropolitan areas.
Formerly a river settlement inhabited by the Mohawk tribe of the Iroquois Confederacy, Utica attracted European-American settlers from New England during and after the American Revolution. In the 19th century, immigrants strengthened its position as a layover city between Albany and Syracuse on the Erie and Chenango Canals and the New York Central Railroad. During the 19th and 20th centuries, the city's infrastructure contributed to its success as a manufacturing center and defined its role as a worldwide hub for the textile industry. Utica's 20th-century political corruption and organized crime gave it the nicknames "Sin City", and later, "the city that God forgot."
New York is a state in the Northeastern United States and is the United States' 27th-most extensive, fourth-most populous, and seventh-most densely populated state. New York is bordered by New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the south and Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont to the east. The state has a maritime border in the Atlantic Ocean with Rhode Island, east of Long Island, as well as an international border with the Canadian provinces of Quebec to the north and Ontario to the west and north. The state of New York, with an estimated 19.8 million residents in 2015, is often referred to as New York State to distinguish it from New York City, the state's most populous city and its economic hub.
With an estimated population of nearly 8.5 million in 2014, New York City is the most populous city in the United States and the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States. The New York City Metropolitan Area is one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. New York City is a global city, exerting a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment, its fast pace defining the term New York minute. The home of the United Nations Headquarters, New York City is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural and financial capital of the world, as well as the world's most economically powerful city. New York City makes up over 40% of the population of New York State. Two-thirds of the state's population lives in the New York City Metropolitan Area, and nearly 40% live on Long Island. Both the state and New York City were named for the 17th century Duke of York, future King James II of England. The next four most populous cities in the state are Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers, and Syracuse, while the state capital is Albany.

Torrential downpours produced severe flooding along the Sauquoit Creek around Genesee Street in South Utica late this afternoon. Residents on Richardson Ave were told to evacuate. Here, a very lucky motorist heads down Brookline Drive and crosses over the closed Genesee St bridge. Logs/trees jammed into the eastern side of the bridge, causing floodwaters to rise and flood Brookline Drive, Richardson Ave and Genesee Street. Richardson Ave residents were advised to evacuate.

The left didn’t listen, and now Utica, New York, is paying the price. Blogger and Utica native Loretta the Prole — as she identifies herself — has a terrifying story to tell. Due to an influx in refugees, her city now has a population that’s roughly 25% Muslim, according to World Net Daily. Diseases are coming back (even tuberculosis), churches are converting to mosques, and slowly but surely, American traditions are eroding. Utica used to be called “The city that loves refugees!” but that nickname seems quest...

Roaming around the long avenues of Brooklyn, a vast network of vans hide in plain sight. They carry more than 100,000 passengers daily, and operate in a delicate balance of legal status with the City of New York. We took a look at how these vans came to New York in the first place, and how they have shaped the East Brooklyn community they serve. Time...its supposed to heal our wounds
Joy...I never knew till I met you
On that summer night in the moonlight
When you were there by my side
Peace...it only comes when I have you
(when I have you)
If you put your arms around me
I can never (ever) let you go
If you put your arms around me
I can never (ever) let you go
Love is the only thing that I have left
And now I know Im no better than the rest
And I try and I try to win you back
With every line in my heart and mind dream
Of the time when you were by my side
If you put your arms around me
I can never (ever) let you go
If you put your arms around me
I can never (ever) let you go
Never let you go
Never let you go, no, no
Never let you go
Never let you go
Oh no, no
Never let you go
If you put your arms around me
I can never (ever) let you go
If you put your arms around me
I can never (ever) let you go
If you put your arms around me
I can never (ever) let you go
If you put your arms around me
