9 News Perth reporter Hannah Sinclair told Radio 6PR the woman was uninjured and emergency workers were trying to work out how she came to be in the drain, which is covered by a grate at one end and a gate with bushland on the other.
"She was obviously quite distressed and they said the drain pipe itself got as tight as 600 millimetres so if you don't like confined spaces that definitely would have been a full-on experience to be trapped in there," she said.
"We had a about half a dozen fire crews out here working from both ends of the drain pipe and after about an hour they did successfully rescue her."
