This Land can mean several things:
Sixology (Chinese: JJ陸) is Singaporean Mandopop Singer-songwriter JJ Lin's sixth Mandarin studio album. It was released on 18 October 2008 by the Ocean Butterflies Music and contains 14 tracks. It is called this because it is his sixth album. There are three versions for this album. The song "主角" is popular in China, with many performances recently and concerts in many cities.
The album was awarded one of the Top 10 Selling Mandarin Albums of the Year at the 2009 IFPI Hong Kong Album Sales Awards, presented by the Hong Kong branch of IFPI.
Land, released in 1983 on Jive Records, was The Comsat Angels' fourth album. The album was reissued on CD in 2001 with five B-sides as bonus tracks for Jive's "Connoisseur Collection".
The song "Independence Day," originally from their debut album, Waiting for a Miracle, was rerecorded for Land. "Will You Stay Tonight" and "Independence Day" received a reasonable amount of airplay and charted in the UK at No. 81 and No. 71, respectively. "Island Heart" was also released as a single.
Land was the first of two albums for the Jive label and was viewed as a major departure from the Comsats' first three albums. Frontman Stephen Fellows looked back in a 2006 interview: "We made more commercial albums in the mid-'80s because the record company wanted us to do so. We were happy to find a new label after the commercially not-so-successful first albums." He regretted the result, but their options seemed limited because of the pop music world at the time. "Indie didn’t really exist, so we had no choice. But in retrospect we should have [stuck] to our early sound." Bass player Kevin Bacon put it this way: "The demos we did for Land were really good. It was a weird time for us – we felt deflated after being dropped after three albums by Polydor. Eighties pop values were rife; we didn’t naturally fit in, but were all into being popular (pop) and felt we could achieve it in a more damning way. We didn’t think Land was crap at the time, we just didn’t think it was us."
Patricia Lee "Patti" Smith (born December 30, 1946) is an American singer-songwriter, poet and visual artist who became a highly influential component of the New York City punk rock movement with her 1975 debut album Horses.
Called the "punk poet laureate", Smith fused rock and poetry in her work. Smith's most widely known song is "Because the Night", which was co-written with Bruce Springsteen. The song reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1978. In 2005, Patti Smith was named a Commander of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture, and in 2007, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On November 17, 2010, she won the National Book Award for her memoir Just Kids. The book fulfilled a promise she had made to her former long-time roommate and partner, Robert Mapplethorpe. In Rolling Stone magazine's list of 100 Greatest Artists published in December 2010, she was in 47th place. She is also a recipient of the 2011 Polar Music Prize.
The GSMA Mobile World Congress is a combination of the world's largest exhibition for the mobile industry and a conference featuring prominent executives representing mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, vendors and content owners from across the world. The event, initially named as GSM World Congress and later renamed as the 3GSM World Congress, is still often referred to as 3GSM or 3GSM World.
In 2014 the GSMA announced that their annual summer event in China was being rebranded under the Mobile World Congress banner as "Mobile World Congress Shanghai". The event took place 15–17 July 2015 in Shanghai, China, at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre. 2016 event will take place in Barcelona from 22 to 25 February.
The GSMA Mobile World Congress usually takes place in February but occasionally the show occurs the first week of March. The location is the Fira Gran Via venue in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Annual attendance is generally between 80,000-90,000 people. Up until 2006 the event took place in Cannes and was known as 3GSM World. Attendees represent more than 200 countries from across the globe.
GSM 03.40 or 3GPP TS 23.040 is a mobile telephony standard describing the format of the Transfer Protocol Data Units (TPDU) of the Short Message Transfer Protocol (SM-TP) used in the GSM networks to carry Short Messages. This format is used throughout the whole transfer of the message in the GSM mobile network. In contrast, application servers use different protocols, like Short Message Peer-to-Peer or Universal Computer Protocol, to exchange messages between them and the Short message service centre.
GSM 03.40 is the original name of the standard. Since 1999 it is being developed by the 3GPP under the name 3GPP TS 23.040. However, the original name is often used to refer even to the 3GPP document.
The GSM 03.40 TPDUs are used to carry messages between the Mobile Station (MS) and Mobile Switching Centre (MSC) using the Short Message Relay Protocol (SM-RP), while between MSC a Short Message Service Centre (SMSC) the TPDUs are carried as a parameter of a Mobile Application Part (MAP) package.
It is used to exchange secured packets between an entity in a GSM PLMN and an entity in the SIM. Secured Packets contain application messages to which certain mechanisms according to GSM 03.48 have been applied. Application messages are commands or data exchanged between an application resident in or behind the GSM PLMN and on the Wapor MMS. <ref name=MME2001req">"GSM 03.48 Java API and Realization Library". Retrieved 16 May 2011. </ref> It is evolved to 3GPP TS 23.048 in 3G. From Release 5, TS 23.048 is split into the generic part and the bearers specific application. The generic part has been transferred to SCP (ETSI TS 102 225). The bearers specific part is 3GPP TS 31.115.
The Sending Application prepares an Application Message and forwards it to the Sending Entity, with an indication of the security to be applied to the message.
The Sending Entity prepends a Security Header (the Command Header) to the Application Message. It then applies the requested security to part of the Command Header and all of the Application Message, including any padding octets. The resulting structure is here referred to as the (Secured) Command Packet.

This is the A Side of ‘The Comsat Angels,’ second EP ‘Total War,’ (March 1980) though the first release on Polydor. Two of the tracks would go on to feature on their first LP ‘Waiting For A Miracle.’ The title of this track is listed as ‘Total War Girl,’ on the sleeve. At this stage, The Comsat Angels had tried performing under three other names Mr Tibbetts, Skylids and Radio Earth before settling on the J.G. Ballard inspired ‘The Comsat Angels.’ Although as Fellows admits not a great story, it was a great name. The line up of the band remained nearly the same for each of the incarnations. As Radio Earth, they supported Pere Ubu in Newcastle in 1978. They were forced to re-evaluate what they were doing. Fellows commented that they ‘realised what we were doing was fundamentally bad - need...
The rather lovely 'And All The Stars' performed by English post-punk group The Comsat Angels. A sweet and simple song, but still, so very moving. Taken from the album, 'MY MINDS EYE' (1993). LISTEN LOUD. Stephen Fellows - vocals & guitar. Andy Peake - synthesizer. Kevin Bacon - bass. Mik Glaisher - drums.
This is the B Side of ‘The Comsat Angels,’ first new release of 1981. One of the great tracks to never make an album and overlooked on re-releases. However, Fellows did comment on it for the compilation LP Enz. He said this is when they began recording the drums through the lift shaft which created a sound ‘a bit like World War III, this is what we wanted at the time.’ This song was the first in which they used this recording technique. This track has been released most recently on Edsel Records deluxe release of 'Sleep No More.' Also on said release is the Peel Session version of the song. I do not own any of this music and am only posting it to spread The Comsat Angels' music, if the owners would like this video removed, please contact me.
This is the fourth track on the first side of 'The Comsat Angels,' second album 'Sleep No More.' This track has been released most recently on Edsel Records deluxe release of 'Sleep No More.' I do not own any of this music and am only posting it to spread The Comsat Angels' music, if the owners would like this video removed, please contact me.
This is the third track on the first side of 'Sleep No More.' This track has been released most recently on Edsel Records deluxe release of 'Sleep No More.' Also on said release is the Peel Session version of the song, a version recorded for the Richard Skinner Show as well as an early demo.
