Mikheil Gelovani - Stalin's "official actor"
For 15 years Mikheil Gelovani (1892-1956) was Josef Stalin's "official actor", without permission to interpret any other role. He was awarded four Stalin Prizes and was given the title People's Artist of the USSR. But when the soviet dictador died in 1953 his career has almost ended. With the denunciation of the crimes of Stalin by Kruschev, fell in disgrace and its scenes were cut of the films.Gelovani died on December 21, 1956.

В СССР выпускалось мало фильмов и, как правило, все смотрел сам Сталин. От его настроения после просмотра зависело, выйдет ли вообще картина на экраны, какую определят категорию и многое другое.
Сталин просмотрел «Свет над Россией» и в гневе покинул демонстрационный зал. Он ничего не сказал, не сделал ни одного замечания, тем не менее, по Министерству кинематографии был издан приказ: фильм «Свет над Россией» политически порочный.
Оказывается, на просмотре министр Большаков сидел позади Сталина и фиксировал неодобрительные хмыкания товарища Сталина, которому фильм не понравился. Прежде всего, недостаточно обрисован образ самого Сталина.
Как ни странным может показаться, но во многом виновником запрета был ... Зускин. Для него никогда ничего не значило - роль главная или второстепенная. Он всегда относился к ней как решающей. Вот и небольшая роль часовщика была сыграна так, что она затмила все остальные. Потом Юткевичу передали замечание Сталина: в фильме, мол, много часовщика. Великий вождь не потерпел такого.
