Вениамин Зускин – часовщик, тот самый часовщик, который заставил кремлевские куранты исполнять «Интернационал». Комиссия приняла фильм, и Юткевич улетел в Сочи. Все вздохнули с облегчением.
В СССР выпускалось мало фильмов и, как правило, все смотрел сам Сталин. От его настроения после просмотра зависело, выйдет ли вообще картина на экраны, какую определят категорию и многое другое.
Сталин просмотрел «Свет над Россией» и в гневе покинул демонстрационный зал. Он ничего не сказал, не сделал ни одного замечания, тем не менее, по Министерству кинематографии был издан приказ: фильм «Свет над Россией» политически порочный.
Оказывается, на просмотре министр Большаков сидел позади Сталина и фиксировал неодобрительные хмыкания товарища Сталина, которому фильм не понравился. Прежде всего, недостаточно обрисован образ самого Сталина.
Как ни странным может показаться, но во многом виновником запрета был ... Зускин. Для него никогда ничего не значило - роль главная или второстепенная. Он всегда относился к ней как решающей. Вот и небольшая роль часовщика была сыграна так, что она затмила все остальные. Потом Юткевичу передали замечание Сталина: в фильме, мол, много часовщика. Великий вождь не потерпел такого.

Mikheil Gelovani (Georgian: მიხეილ გელოვანი, Russified as Михаи́л Гео́ргиевич Гелова́ни, Mikhail Georgievich Gelovani; January 6 [O.S. December 25, 1892] 1893 – December 21, 1956) was a Georgian-Soviet actor, known for his many portrayals of Joseph Stalin in cinema.
Biography
Early life
Mikheil Gelovani was a descendant of the old Georgian princely house of Gelovani. He made his stage debut in a theater in Batumi during 1913. From 1919 to 1920, he attended the Drama Studio in Tiflis. In the two following years, he was a member of the cast in the city's Rustaveli Theatre. From 1923, he worked as an actor and a director in Georgian SSR's Goskinprom film studio. In 1924, he first appeared on screen in the film Three Lives. He moved to the Armenian SSR's Armenkino production company in 1927. In addition to his cinematic work, Gelovani continued to appear in theater, and performed on stages in Kutaisi and Baku. In 1936 he returned to the ensemble of the Rustaveli Theatre, and remained there for three years.

История ленты «Свет над Россией» весьма примечательна для сталинского времени. Кажется, все сулило огромный успех – добротный сценарий по знаменитой пьесе «Кремлевские куранты», с успехом шедшей в десятках театрах, выдающийся режиссер Сергей Юткевич и звездный состав исполнителей. Вениамин Зускин – часовщик, тот самый часовщик, который заставил кремлевские куранты исполнять «Интернационал». Комиссия приняла фильм, и Юткевич улетел в Сочи. Все вздохнули с облегчением.
В СССР выпускалось мало фильмов и, как правило, все смотрел сам Сталин. От его настроения после просмотра зависело, выйдет ли вообще картина на экраны, какую определят категорию и многое другое.
Сталин просмотрел «Свет над Россией» и в гневе покинул демонстрационный зал. Он ничего не сказал, не сделал ни одного замечания, тем не менее, по Министерству кинематографии был издан приказ: фильм «Свет над Россией» политически порочный.
Оказывается, на просмотре министр Большаков сидел позади Сталина и фиксировал неодобрительные хмыкания товарища Сталина, которому фильм не понравился. Прежде всего, недостаточно обрисован образ самого Сталина.
Как ни странным может показаться, но во многом виновником запрета был ... Зускин. Для него никогда ничего не значило - роль главная или второстепенная. Он всегда относился к ней как решающей. Вот и небольшая роль часовщика была сыграна так, что она затмила все остальные. Потом Юткевичу передали замечание Сталина: в фильме, мол, много часовщика. Великий вождь не потерпел такого.

Mikheil Gelovani (Georgian: მიხეილ გელოვანი, Russified as Михаи́л Гео́ргиевич Гелова́ни, Mikhail Georgievich Gelovani; January 6 [O.S. December 25, 1892] 1893 – December 21, 1956) was a Georgian-Soviet actor, known for his many portrayals of Joseph Stalin in cinema.
Biography
Early life
Mikheil Gelovani was a descendant of the old Georgian princely house of Gelovani. He made his stage debut in a theater in Batumi during 1913. From 1919 to 1920, he attended the Drama Studio in Tiflis. In the two following years, he was a member of the cast in the city's Rustaveli Theatre. From 1923, he worked as an actor and a director in Georgian SSR's Goskinprom film studio. In 1924, he first appeared on screen in the film Three Lives. He moved to the Armenian SSR's Armenkino production company in 1927. In addition to his cinematic work, Gelovani continued to appear in theater, and performed on stages in Kutaisi and Baku. In 1936 he returned to the ensemble of the Rustaveli Theatre, and remained there for three years.
