Chopard L.U.C Time Traveller One

At the top end of the new release spectrum is the Chopard L.U.C Time Traveller One, an upmarket statement that shows the time in 24 zones and comes cased in steel, gold or platinum.

Our favourite is the steel version with a sunburst black dial with contrasting orange accents, yours for $18,250.

For that you get a 42mm beauty with a self-winding chronometer-certified movement, so looks the part and has the internals to back it up.

Nomos Metro Neomatik

If it's Scandinavian design you prefer to Swiss and swish, few brands beat Nomos, a favourite of enthusiasts that's in fact designed and made in Glashutte, Germany.

The svelte Nomos Metro Neomatik model has an in-house movement and is a stand out with a newly available midnight blue dial.

The ask? Just under $6000.

Perrelet Turbine Pilot

If the Nomos is too recessive for you – and the Chopard too expensive – niche brand Perrelet offer this whopping 48mm Turbine Pilot model, one limited to 100 pieces.

Presented in classic black with warm beige tones it features the brands unique spinning-blade dials – sounds gimmicky but makes looking at the time mesmerising.

The Pilot watch couples this 'turbine' with a circular slide-rule, so you'll be able to calculate take-off with a flick of the wrist.
